Couponing Tutorial
coupon savings tutorial
Many people ask us for couponing tips. Here is our basic how to guide, aka couponing 101.
Step 1
Buy two of the widest 3 ring binders you can find and 100 pages of clear baseball card holders. You can find the binders at officemax and the baseball card organizers at toys r us.
Step 2
Prepare an organization method. We like the one offered from the Krazy Coupon Lady.
Step 3
Couponing isn't a hobby, it's a job. The time you spend collecting and organizing your grocery coupons will pay off in hundreds of dollars in savings and free stuff every month. Just like any job, staying up to date with whats happening in your field is crucial. You'll want to read through coupon blogs such ascouponmom.com and theKrazycouponlady.com daily to keep up with the goings on in the world of free and discounted stuff.
Step 4
You need to understand what you are trying to accomplish, and how couponing works. This is how it all happens:There are manufacturer coupons (Kellogg's, nestle, colgate, etc..) and store coupons (target, kroger, walmart, etc..). The entire goal of couponing is to combine a manufacturer coupon with a store coupon on an item that a store is doing a special sale on. If you have a Manufacturer coupon for $1 off Oreos and a Store coupon for $1 off Oreos and Oreos happen to go on sale for $2.25 per package, you're about to wrangle yourself a package of $.25 Oreos! That is the basic principal behind couponing 101.
Step 5
Get a lot of coupons. Different sales happen all the time. Different coupons get dispersed all the time. And you need to be on top of all of it. The main source for collecting coupons is by picking up 5 - 10 copies of your Sunday paper. Remember the binders you bought? Well you're going to need them. Keep all your coupons organized in the binders so you can easily bring them with you when you go shopping. You'll use the weekly circulars to find out about the majority of the sales going on, but you'll also want to walk the aisles and just look around at what's on sale. Not everything is advertised. After a few months of acquiring and organizing coupons, you'll begin to know what you have and what you don't and you'll really start streamlining the process and developing your own techniques for taking advantage of this system. Of course it goes without saying that this very site you are on is a fine tuned resource for finding any rogue coupon you might be in search of. Our coupons are listed by sellers just like you on eBay. Most coupons are clipped, organized and ready to go. Pick your pile and bid away.
That's about all you need to know. Also look online daily at different blogs to find all kinds of amazing coupons and free offers from different stores and retailers.

Get paid for an Ad on your car!
Free Stuff from Ad My Auto
There's an amazing new way to get money and free stuff for doing nothing. Many of you have heard of advertising companies who will pay you to put an ad on your car. Ad My Auto does this but in a much different way than you've ever seen before. Firstly, most places out there will put you on a waiting list for literally YEARS before they even tell you if you 'qualify' for an ad. Usually, you need to drive more than x miles per month and your driving should be in densely populated areas. Ad My Auto has a new approach. They'll let almost anyone in as long as your car is registered and insured. Rather than a full car wrap that you'll get with most of the other advertising companies, the ad that you can expect to receive from Ad My Auto will be no more than half the size of your back windshield. As for payment, you aren't going to get a big check every month but they will hook you up with free and discounted services from the business that's advertising on your car. Some programs come with a "welcome gift" such as a $30 outback gift card, free oil change or 2 free pizzas. Then for as long as the ad stays on your car you'll get "perks" like passive referral bonuses (meaning you don't have to sell anything, they'll send you money each time someone references the ad on your car), prize patrol eligibility and other things depending on the business that you're advertising for. Since I didn't have anything else on my windshield I saw this as a glimmering opportunity while I wait for the big guys to get my car wrap ad ready ;)
The service is 100% free to join. Just be sure you keep the ad up for the minimum 6 month period. If you take your ad off prior to the 6 month mark you'll get charged for all the free stuff you got. Easy peasey IMO for free stuff.
To qualify you can't have any other kinds of bumper stickers (Ad My Auto will take them off for you if you want them to) and your car has to be insured and registered.
All in all, I think this service is brilliant and I hope to see it spread all over the country. Sign up for your free ad today and spread the word!
