Points to consider when...

Choosing a course to learn Spanish

Course Learn Spanish, Photo: Matt BanksIf you sincerely want to learn and are looking to purchase a course to learn Spanish, look no further than my notes below!

Here I share with you, the most important features to chose a Spanish course that is suitable to you.

1. Are you a complete beginner? Or are you looking to improve your Spanish?
There are courses available to begin learning and others to better your Spanish.
An important feature, is a course that is good for both. Then once you begin learning, you can advance, not feeling left behind on the harder parts!

2. Are you looking for a quick course for a trip to Spain or South America?
The course the suits, would be a basic conversation course to get by when shopping, eating out, finding places and introducing yourself. Also being able to count up to 500 hundred would help!

3. Do you have a Business that involves Spanish speaking clients?
If so, you would need a course that includes advanced Spanish. This would include verb building. Learning the past, present and future tenses. The numbers up to and more than 1 million.

4. Are you thinking to live and work in a Spanish speaking country?
A course to learn Spanish under this circumstance, would be a complete guide to master the Language.
This should include all of the mentioned above.

5. Practice Spanish Conjugations covers all of these points. It is for people with all levels of Spanish (or none at all!)

A course to learn Spanish

Course Learn Spanish, photo: photostockI was punching into Google, course learn Spanish, Spanish lessons, best ways to learn Spanish etc.
This was for research into writing this blog.

That's when I came across the BBC website. It offers you French, Italian, German, Greek, Chinease, Spanish! and many more languages.
I have to admit, it is an excellent website. It gives you useful Spanish phrases for all types of use.

But that's when I discovered, Essential Festival phrases, in Spanish!
I could not help myself but click on the link to see what they had chosen to teach people.
I was surprised and shocked by a few! Some of them were funny, others shocking but not all of them literally translated.

Some examples are:

Es mi primera vez en Ibiza - (As Translated by the BBC) I am an Ibiza Virgin. (Translated by me) Its my first time in Ibiza.

Hace tres/cuatro/cinco dias que no duermo - (BBC) I haven't slept for three/four/five days. (Correct, funny, for some!)

Pon me una linea de bajo para que esto se anime - (BBC) Give me bass line to get some booty bouncing. (I could not believe I found this one!). (Translated by me) Put a bass line on so this becomes more lively.

So just a warning! A lot of what is available on-line is not translated literally one hundred percent. In this case what the BBC translate for you is not totally correct.

To avoid these easily made mistakes, make sure you learn from a professional Spanish teacher or course.
