Her bio in her own words

I Courtney Friel ,would be nowhere in my career without the love and support of my mom, dad and two sisters therefore, the first picture in my virtual biography is dedicated to them. Courtney Friel grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs with the dream of being on TV (the initial goal was weather girl, but it's changed over the years). Many hours were spent in my school's TV studio producing shows (I really thought I was Jane Pauley) and harassing my family, friends and teachers to film me or let me interview them. Courtney Friel got headshots and starred in an MTV commercial for Love's Baby Soft perfume but my big high school opportunity occurred when the network of kid TV came calling. Courtney Friel had been chosen to be an anchor on the Channel One News program seen in schools across the country. This experience gave me my first taste of LA and the news business - Courtney Friel was hooked.

Courtney Friel went to my first year of college at Elon University, where Courtney Friel gained some local cable experience and um, apparently the freshman 15. But there were only so many hard-hitting journalism stories Courtney Friel could investigate there such as the opening of the school library and covering Greek events, (for the record- I am not in a sorority- and never was a cheerleader either) so Courtney Friel moved to Los Angeles. I got an internship at MTV News and a freelance reporter gig for the show "Trackers" on the Oxygen channel. Some of Courtney Friel stories included skydiving, going undercover for fake ids, and interviewing celebrities on the red carpet. Courtney Friel finished up college with a BA in Political Science from San Diego State University and interned at the local NBC (KNSD). This is where Courtney Friel learned the intern secret- buy the photographers beer to entice them to shoot your standups and edit packages .Courtney Friel ended up with a fabulous resume tape!

Unlike most anchor wannabees, Courtney Friel was willing to leave my friends and family and move to the middle of nowhere to gain experience and credibility. Courtney Friel specifically remember sending out one tape thinking, "I really hope this random place doesn't call me." Well WBBJ did, and Courtney Friel was off to the ABC affiliate in Jackson no, not the metropolis of Jackson Mississippi, but Jackson, Tennessee. Competing with the illustrious wages equal to a fast food worker, Courtney Friel was hired as an anchor and reporter (code name for one-woman band). Courtney Friel's duties included hauling my body weight in camera equipment to shooting, editing, and writing my own stories. Courtney Friel even rolled the teleprompter pedal with my right foot while anchoring the 10pm news! And it gets better my first day of live television began at 4am with a deadly tornado that leveled the town and also totaled my car!

The next stop in local news...Palm Springs, CA, where Courtney Friel reported and anchored at the CBS affiliate there. Moving back to Los Angeles gave me the chance to cover a variety of subjects... Poker, hosting the "World Poker Tour" on the Travel Channel. Crime, as a correspondent for "America's Most Wanted" on FOX and "The Saturday Night Solution" on COURT TV. Entertainment reporting for E! News Entertainment Television, "Extra" on NBC, VH1, and ET Canada. Videogames for GameStop/EBTV, and G4. News, Sports and Music at GOTV Mobile Television. Movies, hosting shows for Loews Theaters, Comcast Cable, and Nickelodeon. Courtney Friel is a hard worker and love all aspects of the TV business. Now I'm back on the East Coast working for Fox News Channel in NYC, living with my Husband -CBS News reporter Carter Evans, and my fat cat Tucker.

Courtney Friel

Courtney Friel is one of those television reporters who, even though she's not yet 30, has seemingly worked just about everywhere. You've probably seen her on E! Entertainment, the Oxygen Channel, Extra, KPSP in Palm Springs, Court TV, the Travel Channel and everywhere in between. These days you can catch her on Fox News Channel, where she is the cabler's popular entertainment reporter.

How did the gig with Fox News come about?

Well...I went on a date with Roger Ailes...OMG- I'm joking!! Actually- the process was pretty standard. My agent sent FOX a DVD (which had 2 reels on it- entertainment and local news). Then- I flew to NYC for an interview. Next- I got an offer- so I left LA and moved to the Big Apple! I'm in my third year at FNC already

Any truth to the report on some websites that there is on the set animosity between you and Julie Banderas?

I just ran into Julie and we laughed about this "rumor." We were on a weekend show together for 6 months and "message boards" imagined a catfight. We hang out socially. I pretty much like and get a long with everyone. I'd rather have a drink with my co-workers than compete with them! I feel really blessed to have met so many great friends through FOX

Courtney friel

Thanks for talking to us, Courtney. We understand you're a very busy lady...

I have about four jobs. I report for the local CBS Palm Springs on the weekends and other times when they need me to fill in. News is my background. I moved to the middle of Tennessee for my first job; I literally shot, edited, and rolled the teleprompter with my foot while anchoring the news. I was a one-woman band.

Did you ever get into any dangerous situations as a news anchor?

Not really dangerous. Police are always around to protect you. I was at a standoff once for about 10 hours, and that was quite scar

It seems like every girl in Los Angeles auditioned for this role. It started out as an audition through my agent. . I remember auditioning and I was like, "Uh... someone's going all in," and I didn't even know what that meant. So I think they hired me for my personality and my ability to interview people. As a news reporter, you have to go out and find out about something new every day. You have to get the facts and relay them to an audience, so I guess they were confident that I could cope.

Did you feel a lot of pressure filling Shana Hiatt's shoes?

I think it's always difficult to replace someone. But look at Kelly Ripa; she took over from Kathie Lee [Gifford], and she's doing a great job. I know that Shana was very charming -- I actually haven't met her -- but I'm glad I'm stepping into the shoes of someone who was so well-liked, as opposed to someone who was... annoying (laughs).

A lifelong entrepreneur as well, Bill Spetrino set out to understand and codify a simple dividend investing strategy for life, an idea that eventually led to the creation of The Dividend Machine. Bill Spetrino wrote it all down in his book, "Consume, Consume, and Consume More," about how to pick the kinds of dividend stocks Warren Buffett or the late Sir John Templeton would recommend, long-term cash generators with handsome appreciation as well. Bill Spetrino dividend picks now generate all of Bill Spetrino family's living expenses and more, and they keep on growing! Bill Spetrino consults with a worldwide base of clients on investing and tax planning from his home in Ohio.

This Dividend Stock Picker is Walking with a Swagger

Dear Moneynews Reader:

In early July, we alarmed investors with the prediction that the stock market would rally the second half of this year.
This past week, the stock market jumped 2.5% on Monday and 3% on Wednesday. It would take you two years to get those types of returns with most CDs.

People who followed the advice of Bill Spetrino, editor of The Dividend Machine, profited handsomely this past week.

When I teamed up with Bill Spetrino, I knew Bill Spetrino would be good, but I didn't expect Bill Spetrino to bat a thousand. Some stocks are up 6%, while others are up 22%. Not a single loser!

And here's the exciting part.

Bill Spetrino is doing it with dividend stocks. Some of the safest stocks out there.

You see, while many investors are confused about the next move to make, Bill Spetrino has guided thousands of people toward profitable investments.

And here's the REAL exciting part!

Bill Spetrino told me yesterday that there are three new stocks on his radar that he is about to recommend.

Meet Bill Spetrino, the genius
who created the high-profit

Why is it so important to develop your own dividend machine? This multiple part article should help you come to the realization that few investors do until it is too late: The importance of building your own dividend machine

A 25 year old whose portfolio is only thirty thousand dollars, can buy a stock l with a dividend of about 8.5% The twenty seven hundred dollars of annual dividends should double about every 9 years at least. With no further investment this particular dividend machine should return over eighty six thousand dollars annually at age seventy. Sound impressive? By reinvesting dividends the first fifteen years this amount should be well over two hundred thousand dollars annually at age seventy. How many of your friends do you think will have done that? Not bad for a one time investment.See the importance of a dividend machine now?

What happens if you don't have the thirty thousand dollars to get started ?Borrowing the money from a loved one or relative is a great alternative. Many parents grandparents and loved ones loan money to a child for an automobile or school which may or may not have a future tangible value. Giving your loved one their "inheritence" early may create a permanent dividend machine that can be transferred for many generations to come

Wharton School of Business professor Jeremy Siegel said that about 97% of the gain of the Dow since 1900 has been from reinvested dividends . Only 3% wwas caused by capital gains. Yet many "gamblers" ,disguised as value investors ,have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars, investing in financials like AIG ,Bear Stearns and others. Their mistake is concentrating ONLY on capital gains and not dividends. In the next installment a step by step blueprint will help you to explain how to build your own personal dividend machine
