Child Swimsuit Cover up Sewing Pattern
To keep your child warm when he or she comes out of the water, a towel is what everyone usually uses. A towel doesn't give freedom to move and play. An easy pull over beach cover with side ties will dry your child and protect from the sun and chilly breezes. Sew this beach cover quickly and easily from a towel or other fabric in plain colours or a pattern. Give each child their own cover up made from their favourite colour so they can easily identify their own.
Use Towels
Use one towel for a smaller child or two towels for an older child. The length is twice the width.
If you use two towels, sew the shoulders together.
Cut
Cut a pocket from one corner and two strips for the belt.
Cut an oval from the centre of the towel for the head.
Sew
Bind the neck edge and both side edges of the towel with bias tape.
Turn under the edges of the pocket and stitch to the towel.
Turn under and stitch the edges of the belt and attach to the centre back on the waist line.
