Covered Bridges make Beautiful Puzzles

Do you know someone who loves jigsaw puzzles? Do they also like covered bridges? If you can answer yes to both of these questions than I have some great ideas for gifts for you.

In the fall of 2011 Zazzle introduced two new jigsaw puzzles to their product lineup. These beautiful puzzles come in two sizes and 8x 10 and a 11x14 size. They are made of sturdy clipboard and have a great easy to wipe-clean surface. I have combined these puzzles with my love of photographing covered bridges and designed the puzzles you will see on this page.

Concord Covered Bridge

Smyrna, Georgia

This historic covered bridge is found just north of Atlanta, Georgia. It is still in use today and in fact as I was trying to capture a photograph I would have to wait for traffic to slow down. It is found on a narrow, but busy road and was beautiful with the fall foliage surrounding it.

This covered bridge is located in the southern part of the St. Louis metro area in Missouri.

This bridge gets its unusually name from the hump in the mid section of the bridge.

Stone Mountain Covered Bridge

Georgia

This is one of my favorite covered bridges that I photographed. On the day that we went to Stone Mountain there was construction on the bridge, so I had to be creative with my shots to keep out the construction work. This shot from a distance was able to captured the bridge and the fall reflections in the water.

Zacke Cox Covered Bridge

Indiana

Parke county, Indiana is known as the "Covered Bridge capital of the World". It has 36 covered bridges still standing in the county. On a beautiful spring day a couple of years ago, my husband and I traveled throughout the county photographing the bridges.

This bridge, built over Rock Run creek, was built in 1908.

Rush Creek Covered Bridge

Parke County Indiana

I was photographing this bridge from the other side, when I decided to walk through the bridge and see what it looked like from the opposite side. I am glad I did...I really like how the overhanging branch gives a framework to the photo.

Billie Creek Covered Bridge

Parke county Indiana

This bridge is found at the entrance to an historical area near Rockville, Indiana. This early 20th century village has been re-created using building from around Parke county. It has 30 buildings and 3 covered bridges. I took a walk through the village and saw an old school building, a church and many interesting shops and log cabins.

    These can definitely make for great JIgsaw puzzles. Given how rainy it can be in the Uk, I am surprised that covered bridges never really took off down here. Thankfully Jigsaw puzzles did though! It is small annoyance that zazzle do not say how many pieces are in the puzzles. Anyway - thanks for the lens. Blessed!
