PARTIES = JOBS???Jake Becker,37, didn't think the standard thank you after the interview was enough for a job he coveted. Instead he followed up his interview by throwing a surprise pizza party for the company's office.
Thumbs Down! - Pizza -yummy, they even sent a nice little online thank you but......No job offer came with it!
The CEO of Quaker State in Dallas received a resume, cover letter AND a bottle of champagne from Therese Tetzel, 52. Her clever ploy, sending a handwritten note asking him to enjoy a glass of the good stuff while reading her resume.
It only took two days to get called for an interview.
Thumbs Up! - Tetzel didn't think this strategy was a risk at all and shortly after was hired as a marketing manager.
Peggy Greco 53, put her creative hat on and used the web, a bike & a T-shirt to garner attention to her desire to secure a private duty nurse job in Hobe Sound, FL.
Greco printed a T-shirt with her web site/contact info and began, well riding through the neighborhood.

Who ever said chain letters were a bad thing? Jacob Share, 33 sent an email to everyone he knew with his resume and cover letter attached. The kicker, he dangled a $150 finder's fee to the person who ultimately led him to the position he sought.
Thumbs Up! - Share states "the process went quickly after my initial mailing" It took only one friends forward of the email to lead to his ultimate prize- A job offer!

KyNam Doan, 25 tried to capitalize on his charitable and giving nature to land him a job offer. Doan's tactic, donate 5hours to Big Brother Big Sister and the San Francisco Food Bank for every interview. Thumbs Down! AND Up! - Doan has yet to land that job but the hours spent are ultimately well appreciated by the countless number of people he has come into contact and helped via this unusual method! You could say that it was a win/lose situation but he hasn't given up hope just yet and he sure feels good in the process!
