Understanding the Power of Covert Hypnosis

Did you know that there are several different types of hypnosis? In fact there are a few methods that are highly guarded secrets in the hypnotherapy profession. This is due mainly to the fact that the power of simple hypnotic suggestions can be so effective and that these suggestions can be planted in a persons mind without them even knowing it. This method of hypnosis is known as covert hypnosis.

Covert hypnosis can be a very dangerous weapon when not used in a moral or ethical way. However, covert hypnosis can also be a very effective tool when used properly. If you have ever seen a very charismatic or effective and persuasive speaker then you have probably experienced covert hypnosis. The covert hypnosis techniques can be used to affect a mass audience just as simply as it can be used to affect a single person in a conversation.

Have you ever met a salesperson that sold their product so well that you just had to have it only to get home later and wonder why you bought it? This sales person was probably practicing some form of covert hypnosis. Covert hypnosis, when mastered, often gives the master of covert hypnosis a great power over their subjects and the decisions that they make. This power is not only useful if you are a salesperson but can be utilized in almost any situation. The covert hypnosis methods can be used to persuade clients or colleagues at work to see things your way, to get your children and teens to obey your instructions, and to get just about anyone to say "yes".

The possibilities are endless. Covert hypnosis can be used almost anywhere and in almost any situation. This is what makes it such an amazing tool. I have actually seen people use it to distract their opponent in a golf game. It could of course also be used in chess games, checkers games, or any type of competition that involves concentration and skill. This is because the methods of covert hypnosis actually require getting into the mind of the target audience. The person practicing covert hypnosis uses a combination of command tones in their voice, personal trance words, and three main principles of suggestion in order to gain control over their subject. They are actually able to speak to the unconscious mind of their subject giving it commands while seemingly just carrying on a normal conversation.

Of course if convert hypnosis were extremely simple to master then there would be ton of people out there practicing it. While there are now quite a few that are learning covert hypnosis, there are still very few masters of it. This is not because the principles are not simple but because most people either do not take the time to fully understand how covert hypnosis works or they simply give up out of frustration. However, those who do master covert hypnosis find that they have gained much power and much more satisfaction in their lives. Their quality of life is much better because they get what they want more often and spend less time struggling to convince others to do things their way.

How Does Covert Hypnosis Work?

Hypnosis is a fascinating subject with many questions still unanswered, but the knowledge that a person experiences "hypnotic states" many times daily and that those states are really something normal and quite easy to induce in people, has been there for quite some time now.

Hypnotists have been using the so called conversational hypnosis to bring their subjects in a trance and get them to respond to suggestions for a very long time and many of those techniques have given raise to what is today known as covert hypnosis.

Covert hypnosis is the ability to induce change in a person in a deliberate and completely unconscious way. It has roots in many fields, such as NLP, selling, seduction, public speaking and others and has since become an important part of all of those fields.

The way to explain how covert hypnosis works and how it's present in every day communication is easiest done with a story:

"Have you ever had an experience, where you met with someone and you just connected with that person and could just talk and talk with them for hours?

You know, when you find yourself completely absorbed by what the other person is saying and you're interested in the subject, curious about what that person has to say and eager to share your own ideas?

It's like a warm beam of light goes from your chest to theirs and connects you with them and slightly pulls you together as this beam begins to glow with the warmth of this connection taking place and you begin to strongly respond with the same emotions when they express them...

So, for example... if they were to talk passionately about covert hypnosis, you'd find that the passion for the subject begins to grow inside you as you begin to imagine all the possible ways you could utilize such a powerful tool and can already see yourself in three months' time, when your skills have reached a certain level where you can get people to do what you want and as you feel good about your skills and about yourself, you can look back at this moment as being the start of it all. Isn't it fascinating when this happens?"

What you just read is in NLP terms called a "language pattern" and it's one of the tools used in covert hypnosis to get a person in a responsive state (a trance) and slide some commands in their subconscious mind...

If you felt any of the feelings discussed in the pattern and could imagine what it would be like to be good at covert hypnosis, you've just been successfully hypnotized in a completely unconscious way.

And this is the way covert hypnosis works. It creates thoughts, images, memories and feelings that create a change in people in a completely unconscious and deliberate way.
