Applying Covert Hypnosis In Discreet Settings

Trying to learn covert hypnosis is no easy task. Applying hypnosis in discreet, conversational settings, in a manner that people aren't aware of is of course a lot more difficult than it sounds.

Covert Hypnosis

Whilst conventional hypnosis may be a simple process of simply inducing someone into a trance, planting suggestions within them, and then guiding them out of that trance, covert hypnosis involves doing all of those things without the person even being consciously aware you're doing so.

The way this is achieved is through using anchors and hypnotic suggestions that a person isn't normally consciously aware of. The field of neurolinguistic programming (NLP) can come in handy in exercising these discreet forms of communication.

Once the hypnotic suggestion has been planted covertly, then you can activate the state of hypnosis in the person by triggering the suggestion through the use of an anchor of some form. This anchor could be a certain tonality in your voice, or even something as simple as moving your hands in a certain way.

Obviously the step by step procedures involved in creating such a suggestion and triggering it cannot be explain in this article alone, however the principles behind the theory are relatively easily to understand.

Whilst it is true that a person can still be induced into a trance state through the use of a deepening technique, with covert hypnosis we want to make the entire process much less obvoius. We can replace a deepening technique with what's known as 'hypnotic rapport' .

Hypnotic rapport is a way of establishing rapport with someone, but in a way that lowers the person into a relaxed, trance-like state. If you've ever had someone speak to you and they've seemed to have a relaxing, soothing effect, then this is an example of a hypnotic rapport.

A hypnotic rapport can be achieved by mastering tonality, and the planting of subtle suggestions in conjunction with a hypnotic rapport is one of the key aspects to applying covert hypnosis discreetly and effectively.

One mistake that people often make with covert hypnosis is that they try and make their suggestions to discreet that not even a person's subconscious can pick them up. This is a common mistake. In reality you can make your suggestions quite direct, however you must just word them in a way so that the person wouldn't understand the suggestion within the context of the current conversation.

You could make a statement that had two meanings, one meaning would be the suggestion, and the other meaning would be an innocent statement. If the conversation is based upon the innocent statement, then the person won't consciously register the alternative meaning of what you said, whilst they will still do so subconsciously.

This form of conversation becomes easier to master as you gain practice within covert hypnosis.
