Fun Fondant Cow Cupcake!

Making a cow cupcake...

Making cow cupcakes like the one shown in the picture to the right is a bit challenging, if you don't break down each step. If you can complete the cupcake though, it will come out looking cute, and unique.

The first step towards making these cow cupcakes is baking them. I suggest using chocolate cake, so that the chocolate cake appears to be the dirt underneath of the grass.

Your next step is making the grass for the cupcake. You have two options when making grass. Your first option, like shown in the picture, is to use fondant as grass. Your second option is to use a string piping tip to make grass.

Once you have some type of green grass on your cupcake, you should add the cow. You model the cow from either fondant, or modeling chocolate. There is a video below explaining how to do this.

Finally, make some small flowers out of fondant, and put them on your cupcakes. Now, you are done making your cow cupcakes.

Making this cow cake will be a challenge for any baker, but especially novices. I do though, believe that If you follow the right steps, and take your time, you can successfully complete this cake.

The first thin you should do to make this cow themed cake is make rice krispies as a platform for the cake. This is the short bottom tier of you cake. After making the rice krispies, shape them into an even circle. The, dirty ice the rice krispies. Finally, cover them in fondant.

Next, you should bake two more cakes. One should be larger than the other, like shown in the picture above. Once you are done, stack the larger cake on the platform, and cover it in green fondant. Then, do the same with the small cake, but cover it in blue fondant.

Now, you will start working on the details of your birthday cow cake. First, design a fence from fondant. Be sure to add the indentations to your fence. Also, add the edible sprinkles that look like metal.

Then, you should add the small fondant flowers at the bottom tier of the cake. The second tier needs a fondant twist, which is white and black fondant twisted to make a rope like product, and tied at the end. It is a little bit hard to make, if you don't have experience.

Next, you must make your cows. You can watch the video on this page to learn how to. Then, you are done with your cow cake!

The first step to making this cupcake is baking a set if chocolate cupcakes. The should be chocolate so that the cake appears to be dirt. If you don't like chocolate, you can use yellow cake, it just won't look quite as good. after baking your cupcakes, let them site out until there are completely cooled off to room temperature.

Next, use a string like piping tip to pipe the grass on to your cupcakes. Use the photo above for a good photo reference of the grass.

Finally, you need to model your cow out of fondant. Once you model the cow, just place it on top of your cupcake, and you are done!
