Cozumel Diving

Well, before I get to Cozumel diving, let me tell you something about my past scuba diving experience.

Before I discovered my passion about diving about one and a half year ago I never quite understood why some people around me made such a big deal about going underwater, swimming around and watching some fish do the same.

Sure, it's something different than what you see every other day of the week and the underwater pictures looked kinda nice (or at least "different") but why going crazy about this activity?

Well, once I was underwater for the first time I totally got it.

The pictures ... are one thing but actually being down there like in a totally different world, everything around you is so quiet and peaceful, you look up and the water surface is where you usually expect the tip of a small mountain everything seems to be flying around you ... it's just breathtaking and I became really passionate about scuba diving ever since.

Now, of course there are still always degrees of how amazing a dive site can be and while my first diving experience was in Rhodes, Greece (read: nothing really special down there. Some colored fish, a few corals and if you're lucky maybe an octopus) there was another experience that took my passion to a whole new level: Cozumel diving in Cozumel, Mexico.

I even put up a Cozumel Diving Blog since then and I'd like to encourage every passionate diver to go there once in his or her life!

In Cozumel one can not only see octopuses (octopi? octopodes?) and some small colored fish, there is a diversity of unique subaqueous fish like

-the great barracuda,

-the splendid toatfish,

-green turtles (yes it's also one of the places you see on discovery channel where the baby turtles hatch),

-many many different corals

-and even eagle rays during a short time of the year.

Also the seemingly constant warm weather and the surprisingly friendly inhabitants make Cozumel diving synonymous to a diver's paradise.

Although I have a hard time stopping to rave about this place, I will now.
