  11. proceed to Frrogle directions below

Fixes!!

if you are having errors there are a few that have been brought to my attention - and they are easy to fix
  1. if your shop is over 500 sections - then you should run it in section - move a portion of your products to the center column and run it - then switch them and rename the feed and keep going until you have them all
  2. errors in google says date issue - on the feed format line scroll to the end where you see $$expiration_date$$ - remove that and anything after that before the next [D] if there is another [D] - and replace it with the date 30 days from today in format YYYY-MM-DD (example:2008-08-17) - you will need to change this date every time you make a new feed on a new day
  3. errors saying missing description - go to the description section (should be after the 3rd [D] and add " $$prod_title$$ $$prod_category_caption$$ " - with the space without the "

Google denying feed

Try replacing your codes this works for me:

Feed header

id[D]link[D]title[D]description[D]image_link[D]price[D]currency[D]apparel_type[D]brand[D]condition[D]product_type[D]expiration_date

Feed Format

$$prod_no$$[D]http://www.cafepress.com/$$prod_store$$.$$prod_no$$[D]$$prod_title$$[D]$$prod_title$$ $$prod_desc$$ $$prod_category_caption$$ Check out this and other great tshirts posters and more[D]$$prod_img_link$$[D]$$prod_price$$[D]USD[D]$$prod_type$$[D]$$prod_store$$[D]new[D]$$prod_type$$[D]2008-11-16

Froogle/Google Base

how to load into Google Base (formerly Froogle)

for more specific directions with pictorials/screen shots - check out my new Google Base/Froogle lens http://www.squidoo.com/googlebase-froogle/
  1. go to http://www.google.com/base
  2. Sign in if not already signed in (if you need to make an account do so now then sign in)
  3. if you are not directed there click my My Items
  4. on the blue bar near the top of thepage click Bulk upload files
  5. near the bottom left click Specify bulk upload file
  6. type the name of the file you just made - include the .txt
  7. under item type choose product
  8. click specify bluk upload file button - this will take you back to the bulk upload screen
  9. on the bottom right in the big blue box choose the file name from the drop down menu
  10. click browse and file your file (try C>Programs>1 jump 2>instant cafe> )
  11. click upload and process this file - this can take a few minutes depending on your file size
  12. the wait for approval takes up to 2 hours (i know it says 1 hour at the top - it lies)
  13. once it is approved you will see success and you can then click the the active items area
  14. items will show as processed searchable soon - this step can take up to 24 hours - but all you can do is wait patiently (or impatiently like me)
  15. finally all you have to do now is mark you calander for 30 days - because your froogle feed expires in 30 days!!!

*****Froogle allows up to 10 files each file up to 20MB (20,000KB) & 100,000 items so you do not need to create a new account for each of your CP stores

if you get a notice saying declined for none matching web address - change the file name and resubmit it!!!

Using IC to make a site feed for yahoo

You can upload a cafepress site feed onto your non-cafepress website and submit it to yahoo siteexplorer...

to do so first copy what is in the feed header and feed format lines and paste them into notepad making sure to leave a few spaces between them so they are seperates...then save it

then remove everything from the header and everything but http://www.cafepress.com/$$prod_store$$.$$prod_no$$ from the feed format line (or remove it all and paste that back in

you can run even a large shop in full to create the site map since it is only creating a link list
