Easy Creamy Crab Stew
Don't be misled by the simplicity of this Creamy Crab Stew recipe. It is very easy to prepare and has only a few ingredients, but it is full of luscious crab flavor. Creamy Crab Stew is a good low carb recipe for those watching their intake of carbohydrates. This soup is nice enough to serve to company.
Gather these ingredients for Creamy Crab Stew
Shopping list for Crab Stew
1 lb Crab meat, remove any cartilage (I use a can from the refrigerator section)
3 tablespoons Butter
4 cups half and half
1/2 Pint Heavy whipping cream
Salt/white pepper to taste
How to prepare Creamy Crab Stew
Cooking Instructions for Crab Stew.
Melt the butter in a saucepan.
Add the crab meat and simmer over low heat until warmed.
Add the half and half, stirring constantly until hot.
Add the cream and keep stirring. When hot, simmer for a few minutes, but do not boil.
Cool.
Cover and refrigerate 24 hours before serving to develop the full flavor of the crab.
Reheat, without boiling, and, just before serving, season to taste with salt and pepper.
