What's a Craftymoose and What is Etsy?
I made this lens to introduce you to my shop on Etsy called, Craftymoose! I have been crafting for as long as I can remember. I am self-taught and enjoy the art of french beaded flowers. I enjoy making original, one-of-a-kind butterflies & dragonflies. I also create one-of-a-kind beaded art dolls and suncatchers. Custom requests are welcome. You can visit Craftymoose, here.
Etsy is an online marketplace for buying and selling handmade items. It was started in June 2005 by four friends looking to help people who enjoy creating things to make a living at it. At the time of this writing, 2 1/2 years later, there are 100,000 registered sellers on Etsy!A little more about what I create.

Aceo
What is an ACEO? If you know what they are, they are completely addictive to make and to own! For those not familiar with them, ACEO stands for artist cards, editions and originals. They are small works of art in any media, the only criteria being they measure 2 1/2" x 3 1/2".
I have recently begun making these mini works of art, and I am hooked! I've made paintings, collages, fabric ones that I embellish & dimensional painted ones. I'm always thinking up new ideas! You can see some examples below in my Flickr photos.
I've included an Amazon book below on making Artist Trading Cards--these are actually the same as an aceo, the only difference being they are traded rather than sold.
Beaded Art Dolls
I started out making beaded art dolls that are lovely to hang in a window or pin on a coat or curtain and progressed to making themed dolls. I then went on to adding polymer clay heads and appendages. In my flickr photos, you will see the "School Days" one I made which would be a perfect gift for a teacher! The polar bear is an example of a polymer clay embellished art doll. I hand formed every part myself-no molds were used!
Art dolls can take many forms. They can be sewn from fabric and then embellished, made with wire, polymer clay, paper mache--the varieties & embellishments are limitless!
Shown here is my newest suncatcher--a sea turtle! Also, my beaded hummingbird suncatcher is shown in my flickr photos. I hand formed the outline out of wire & beaded it with thousands of tiny seed beads.
