Craigslist Image Ads

Craigslist Image Ads

In another one of my lenses, I shared a free HTML template for Craigslist ads.

Now I'm going to show you another way of spicing up your boring old plain text classified ads.

This method involves designing your own custom image, rather than using text or HTML code.

Don't panic! You don't have to know how to use Photoshop or be some master graphic designer to achieve this effect. It's actually very easy!

Example of Simple Craigslist Image Ad

What You Will Need:

  • 1

    A free Craigslist account

  • 2

A creative headline for your ad. Your shiny new image ad won't be successful if you don't have a good headline planned for the advert.

  • 3

A photograph, image or graphic that represents what you are advertising You can purchase a stock photo from a site like DepositPhotos or use one of your own. If all else fails, use Google Image Search.

  • 4

An image editing tool. This doesn't have to be anything fancy or complicated like Photoshop. You can even use a lightweight online image editor for this! Another option is Powerpoint, if you're more familiar with that.

  • 5

Free image hosting This will be used to upload your image ad after you've created it. For example, TinyPic is a free image hosting service that you can use without creating an account.

  • 6

A free online WYSIWYG editor This makes it easy to format and compose your ad HTML (which is incredibly sparse, since this ad will be image based). If you don't know of one, use CKEditor.
