All about marketing on Craigslist
Craigslist is the hottest thing online right now. Do it right and you can make some money and get free advertising. Do it wrong and it's just a pain in the butt to deal with.
Link as little as possible
Here is a step by step instructions on how to get around this:
- Get a new email address on Google or Yahoo, Hotmail, doesn't matter.
- Get a domain name and set up a catch all email address
- Post one CL ad per email address to your catch all domain, and have each email forward to the free email account. Do not post a url in the ad.
- In the Cpanel on your hosting account, set up an autoresponder for each email address you are using on CL. For example, on Monday I'll have m1@mydomain.com, m2@mydomain.com, m3 and so forth. Each of these is getting forwarded to your free email account because you have the catch all set up.

Real Life Examples
There are several ways you can go with this. I suggest that you either target online dating, jobs or Ebay as your affiliate program.
So, for example in the dating niche, you could post a personal ad that gets forwarded to the free email account and then in the autoreply say, "Oops, I forgot to delete that ad. I already found someone. Here is a great site to meet people." Same thing with jobs, "Job is filled. Here are some alternative sites to check out." or Ebay, "I sold this item already, here is a great place to look online for some other great deals." You get the idea.
Be An Ebay Matchmaker!
Another great way to play the Ebay game is to be a "matchmaker". Go into CL and find something that people want. Email the CL poster your affiliate link to Ebay for that item. It's win-win. They find their item and you make an affiliate commission! Craigslist and Build A Niche Store
One of the most interesting and innovative internet marketing products to come out lately is Build a Niche Store (BANS). BANS is a website builder that makes Ebay powered stores. They are search engine friendly and look great. They also have Adsense ads on them as well.An alternative Ebay strategy would be to send the visitor to your BANS website in the reply email.

- LeaderMarkets has a lot of CPA (lead generation) offers that perform well on Craigslist.
To Use or Not To Use Automated Posting Software....That Is The Question
If you seriously want to make money from Craigslist, you need to read this!
One of the biggest debates online regarding Craigslist is whether the automated software programs like Craygo and Adbomber are worth the investment. In 90% percent of the cases, the answer is a big NO. Most of these software programs are pure junk!However, there is one software program that's top notch. It run well, is affordable, and the private customer forum is highly educational as well. I've learned more about Craigslist in a week in that forum than months online in other forums. If you are ready for an advanced education in Craigslist marketing, you will definitely want to log into the forum.
It's called Easy Ad Poster. Keven, the guy who designed it offers a basic version ($97) and a Deluxe Version ($397). Personally, I started with the basic version and ended up upgrading to Deluxe quickly after discovering how useful the software is.
The main difference between the two programs is on the basic you have to enter the capcha code yourself and you can't do custom variables in your ads. The Deluxe offers both. Just depends on how much you want to get into this.
