"Crayon Art" - Kid's Stuff, or Creative Genius? You Decide!
Many artists have overlooked what I might call "The Dalits of Art Materials" (Wax Crayons) as a material of choice for creating their artistic masterpieces... But crayons are really not as artisticly limiting as you might expect! Every media has it's pros & cons. I am going to explore some of the creative ways people use crayons in a variety of art forms (myself included). Will "Crayon Art" become the next New Wave in art for adults... Who knows? One thing can be certain, wax crayons are not just for kids!
Etymology of the "Crayon"
Per Webster...
- crayon, pencil, from diminutive of craie chalk, from Latin creta
1 : a stick of white or colored chalk or of colored wax used for writing or drawing
2 : a crayon drawing

My Crayon Art - Wax Crayon on Tracing Paper
Only I would combine top of the line Tracing Paper with cheap "Dollar Store" crayons. It was what I had on hand.
