I Am Totally Crazy About Fabric

I Am Addicted To Fabric Like My Mom Was

Mom and I loved nothing more than going to a new fabric store where we could wander around for hours looking for that perfect piece of fabric, that latest novelty.

We would come home with yards and yards of cotton and organize them with the stack we already had in our special fabric closets.

Those are some of the best memories that I cherish from my mom who unfortunately left us in 2004. To this day, I can not look at fabric whithout
thinking of my worderful mom.

She left us with some beautiful aprons, oven mitts and quilts that we will cherish for ever.

Fabric is a general name for all kinds of different products, but my favorite of them all has to be cotton.

Cotton, that beautiful soft and so versatile fiber grows mostly in tropical and subtropical regions all over the world.

Since prehistoric times, cotton has been part of people's lives.
It is so sad that the black slave population had to work so hard
for the cotton plantation's owners and made them rich, while they
had absolutely nothing themselves to show for their hard work.

Thanks God, that slavery doesn't exist anymore in the United States of America.

Today, cotton is cultivated and harvested with modern machinery and is still
as popular as centuries ago.

You know, I too am a bit more than crazy about fabric ... I used to sew a whole lot of stuff when I was younger. Picking out fabric can be quite a creative experience.

Yes I can relate to this lens I am the same, as a sewer I have countless fabric, which like you most probably never use.
I have given a lot of it to my grand daughter, that is following in my footsteps as a fashion designer for wedding and ball dresses.
    Thanks for sharing with us.
