PETCO - WHERE THE PETS GO!!!
OUR FAVORITE PLACE TO ADOPT FREE PETS

WE HAVE ADOPTED SOO MANY PETS FROM PETCO!
It's amazing all the wonderful pets that we've adopted from PETCO. They come with cages, food, and all. Sometimes owners are unable to take care of pets, or their children aren't taking care of them, or they are moving - so they bring them into PETCO and they in turn find them GREAT homes. We have been soo blessed to be able to adopt some wonderful hamsters, gerbils, and guinea pigs here.

- THIS WAS THE MOST DETAILED INFORMATION I'VE FOUND SO FAR FOR HELPING SICK CHINCHILLAS.
Our Chinchilla Girl, Chilly, became ill over the week-end starting on Saturday. We went to say hello to all our Chins and she was laying on the bottom of her cage making gritting noises with her teeth. She was also grunting. It's very difficult to find someone to treat your chinchillas on the week-end, as most vet emergeny clinics don't see exotic animals. We took her in this morning to a wonderful doctor who is trying everything to help Chilly. The x-ray showed that she has something called bloat. It is quite bad. They have done many things this morning and afternoon to try and help her. The vet told me today that chinchillas can't throw up and burp like us or other animals, so it's very hard for them to get rid of trapped gas. We are trying our best to find what caused this, as we have 4 other chinchillas. We will keep you posted. Please pray that she gets better! She's such a sweet girl!!!

CHINCHILLAS
CHILLY, MILLY, BILLY & BABY BOYS: WILLY, PHILLY, & DILLY
NOTES:
On Monday, September 8th, 2008 Millie had an emergency visit to our vet. She had been in labor the night before, so I stayed up with her all night long. She looked fine on Monday morning & then I checked her again and she had something coming out of her mouth and noticed a baby crowning. We rushed her to our vet, Dr. Kay, & she had to take the babies out with forceps. She had three lil' baby boys and they all were born dead. I took Milly home and she died not an hour after we got home. It's the MOST heartbreaking thing I've ever had to go through. I still can't believe it! :(
On Thursday, May 22nd, 2008 Millie had two tiny baby chinchillas. One made it & one passed away. He's such a cute lil' boy.
On Saturday, February 02nd, 2008 we discovered two lil' baby chinchillas! Milly is the proud Mommy! They are sooo cute!
We bought our first chinchilla, Chilly, at our Friends local Pet Store. She is such a sweetie and sooo cute! She lets us pet her head and neck and quickly runs to greet us, especially if she sees that there is something in our hands. We went for another visit at the Pet Store and noticed that one of her sisters was still left and she was ALL BY HERSELF! Our Friend, the owner, let us have her for a great deal! Her name is Milly! At first we didn't know if they would get along - even though they were siblings - but they are doing great and really love each other. We have found that the best thing for them to eat is the Chinchilla food that we buy at our Pet Store. We also give them Premium Sweet Timothy Hay. They LOVE running on their wheel! They are on it all night long! LOL
Our Sweet Girl, Chilly, passed away from something called the bloat in May. We miss her very much, as she was our most congenial chinchilla. We learned something new when she was sick. Chinchillas are unable to burp or to throw up. This makes it extremely hard for them to get rid of excess gas. We did everything possible to get her system going again, but it just didn't work.

OUR COCKATIEL - BABY
We had no idea the gift we were getting when someone gave us a cockatiel. At first we just kind watched her and took care of her, then one day I decided to move her cage up in our room where we had high ceilings in our room and bathroom. She LOVES it sooo much! She loves hanging out in our bathroom soo much. She sits up on the high ledge and looks at her shadow in the tile. It's like she's playing hide and go seek! She says HELLO non-stop and whistles sometimes. She loves to land on our heads and just stay there as we walk around doing chores, watch TV, take a shower, brush our teeth - you name it! The Lord blessed us with a treasure that we named BABY!

Cockatiel.com relies 100% on funding from individuals like you, who care.
Every dollar is carefully spent to help the thousands of cockatiel owners who visit this great site.
Why we are so popular
Most pets are just as loved as any other member of the family. So many people see a visit to their veterinarian the same way they see a trip to to their child's pediatrician. That's why so many of our visitors are concerned with pet wellness - including preventive care and tips for keeping their pet cockatiel very happy. We take every opportunity to keep our visitors up-to-date on the ever-increasing effectiveness of bird care and educate them about the importance of preventive health care.
Before you get a cockatiel, see us first
Taking care of a bird actually starts before you choose one. Cockatiel.com will help you determine if a cockatiel bird is the right pet for you and your family. We feel that the more our subscribers know about the health of their pet, the better they can be about keeping their pets healthy.
PARROT PARROT
GREAT SITE - TAKE A LOOK
- PARROT PARROT WEBSITE
- Cockatiels are relatively small parrots that make excellent pets. Cockatiels are second only to parakeets in terms of pet popularity. They come in a variety of color mutations, some rarer than others. The price can vary greatly depending on how desirable a certain color mutation is and its current availability.
It is best to get a young bird that is handfed. If parent-raised, it should have been handled regularly and be quite tame already.
Cockatiels are very affectionate birds that will often learn tricks to delight their owners. They can mimic speech and sounds, but their voice is very high-pitched so it can be hard to hear the words. However, their whistling ability is well known, and many tiels can be taught whole songs with practice. Their gentle, sweet nature makes them ideal birds for young children (although generally pet birds are not a good idea for children under age 6 in most cases).
CHOPPER
OUR CHOPPER BOY

Chopper is our 11 year old Beagle/Shepherd Mix. We adopted him from the SPCA in town. He is sooo CUTE and loves to howl with his Momma!!! I swear he sings - I LOVE MY MOMMA! He is the most affectionate dog I have ever seen or had! He thinks he's a cat, and tries to lay right on top of you to be close to your face. He's scared to death of rain, thunder, lightning, and fireworks. Bless his heart - when he hears any of those things he shakes like a leaf and wants to be as close to us as possible. He is his Momma's BABY!!!
MOLLY
MOLLY - OUR PUPPY GIRL

We adopted Molly at 8 weeks old from the Animal Shelter on 07/19/08. It was tough going in the early months, as she chewed EVERYTHING and we were trying to pody train her. Once her baby teeth fell out, the chewing got soo much better. She's now pody trained and lets us know when she needs to go out. She's a delight to have in our home. She LOVES our dog Chopper soo very much! She refuses to go pody without him and just sits at the door and waits for him! She loves being close to us - right under our legs or by me in the kitchen when I'm cooking. She LOVES playing with all her toys and beyond loves to retrieve things that you throw. She has brought a lot of JOY in our home. We are blessed to have her!

FINCHES
NEWS: I heard some very LOUD noises coming from one of our finch cages on 10/07/07!!! We have three new baby finches. I will post pictures as soon as I can safely take their nest out of the cage. This is their parents first clutch, so I don't want to disturb them too early. THEY ARE SOO CUTE!!
Well - where do I start! My Sister-In-Law was moving and needed to find a new home for her finches. I volunteered to find them homes and ended up keeping them all! She gave me 3 boys and 1 girl. The boys were all picking on the girl, so I put her with the prettiest boy finch. Not too long after that - we had our first clutch of three baby finches. The Mommy got egg-bound and passed away about a month ago. It broke my heart and I learned an incredible amount about giving them supplements in their water to help from preventing this to happen again. I put two of the girls from our first clutch in with my two other boys. We now have two new clutches of baby finches! The fist ones had three and I haven't been able to see how many we have in our second clutch! They are sooo cute! It's been fun watching this new batch try to fly! I find finches to be very relaxing to watch and have really enjoyed having them!

Our Gerbils are Chester, Oli, Napolean, Kip, & Mommy! Recently, Oli passed away and we are VERY sad, but sadder than us was his brother, Chester! He is very lonely without him. We adopted Chester & Oli From Petco. Kip & Napolean are brothers, too. They are both white. They are full of energy! We also have their Mom - hence the name "MOMMY" They were trying to find a home for her at the pet shop, so we adopted her. She is also white.
We feed them Hamster/Gerbil Food, Carrots, Apples, and other snacks. A wheel is a must for Gerbils - as they love to be active ALL NIGHT LONG! hee hee
Gerbils love chewing on toilet paper & paper towel rolls! They love to be busy.

We adopted Brownie from Petco! She's such a sweet girl and loves to be pet on her face and head. Whenever she hears the bag with her food making noise she just squeals.
We feed Brownie Dry Guinea Pig food from our Pet Store and also feed her Premium Sweet Timothy Hay, Romaine Lettuce, Carrots, Apples, Celery, Fresh Green Beans, & sometimes fruit. She LOVE to eat!
We house Brownie in a big 50 Gallon Rubbermaid Container without a lid. It was perfect, as her water bottles hang great off the sides of the container!

HOW TO SPOIL YOUR GUINEA PIG
THIS IS A WONDERFUL LENS - 5 STARS
- HOW TO SPOIL YOUR GUINEA PIG LENS ON SQUIDOO
- So, you've brought a guinea pig (or two) into your home.
Have they taken over yet?
Anyone guinea pig owner will tell you that they very quickly wrap their human owners around their little front paws -- turning them into slaves who go out of their way to provide their guinea pig masters with everything they could possibly want. After awhile, you don't notice, much less mind, that you're treating yourself to fewer lattes at Starbucks or a few less new books from Barnes & Noble. The furkids are happy -- that's all that matters.
THE CRITTER CONNECTION
THANKS FOR ALL THAT YOU DO FOR GUINEA PIGS!!!
- THE CRITTER CONNECTION WEBSITE
- The Critter Connection, Inc., is a non-profit group dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of abandoned and neglected guinea pigs. Located in Durham, Connecticut, the rescue was started in early 2004 when its founder, Cindy Kuester, realized that abandoned guinea pigs in our state had nowhere to go.
Cindy and her rescue have already placed more than 500 abandoned guinea pigs into new homes. We have several dozen more pigs that are currently looking for new permanent homes.
Please take time to browse our Web site, learn our story, and check out our adoption postings. If you're interested in helping out, but are unable to adopt a pet at this time, we also welcome donations of money, food, and supplies. You can find more information on our Adoptions and How To Help pages.

- Bigger is better! For the health and well-being of your guinea pigs, beyond the minimums, provide as large a living area as you can manage. Cubes and Coroplast (C&C) cages are an easy and inexpensive alternative to the small cages used by breeders and those sold at pet stores. Follow the minimum cage size standards of 7.5 or 10.5 square feet and you will see your own guinea pig's behavior improve significantly. Enjoy the new antics of your happier, healthier, and perkier guinea pigs in their proper environment.

- About Gorgeous Guineas
Gorgeous Guineas started in 2003 by Chrissie Slade who is a qualified (human) Aromatherapist.
When Karen at Reading Guinea Pig Rescue took in 17 guineas with bad Fungal skin problems, Chrissie decided to try and help them with some nice gentle Aromatherapy products, rather than using the traditional harsh dips and shampoos stuffed full of chemicals.
All the guineas concerned made full recoveries from their skin problems, and the rest, as they say, is now history.
Over the past 4 years our range has expanded greatly after starting with just 3 products. Many of the requests we've had for new products have come from our customers or from the guinea pig rescues that we work with.
Our mission in life is to educate humans about the importance of guinea pig pampurring, and to help every guinea to become gorgeous with nice clean skin and the healthy shiny hair that they deserve.
We're proud of our products which are the world's first and only range of Aromatherapy products designed especially for guineas. Over the past 4 years we've helped many hundreds of guineas to become gorgeous again after they have suffered some of the most horrible skin problems imaginable.
Thanks go to our dedicated band of product testers who run guinea pig rescues in the UK and the Netherlands. Gorgeous Guineas products would not exist without their help and feedback, as well as suggestions from our customers.

WHY IS JOHN316 MY USER NAME?
JOHN 3:16
- "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life."
WOW - this verse says it all! God was willing to give His only Son to die on the cross for our sins, so that each of us would have the opportunity to accept Jesus into our hearts & accept the free gift of salvation. We just have to ask Him! If we ask Him & believe with all our hearts - He promises us a home with Him in heaven when we die. It's so easy that even a child can accept this gift. If you're reading this & accept Jesus into your heart - please sign my guestbook & let me know!
God Bless You!
Much Love - Stacey
