Crazy Quilting can easily become an obsession, particularly if you enjoy experimenting with lots of different embroidery and embellishment techniques. There is no need for precise piecing, and if you do make a mistake there is always a way to disguise it.
If you love colour and texture and the challenge of combining a variety or sumptuous fabrics and a wide range of embellishment techniques...then you may have what it takes to become a Crazy Quilter.
Great Links for Crazy Quilters...
- Quilting Arts Magazine
- My absolute favourite textile arts magazine. I've bought every issue since the first, and each one is not only beautiful- it has inspired me to actually try something new.
The newer magazine Cloth Paper Scissors is also available from here- I'm slightly les sure about this one, as it's really not my style. And there's a great online store- where you can buy interesting books, patterns, trims and various embellishments. - Farne Designs
- I have to declare an interest here- Valerie is one of my Crazy Quilting Round Robin group- and I am lucky enough to have learned a great deal from her over the years. She sells some great Crazy Quilt projct packs, and may still have some lovely hand dyed silk ribbon left if you are quick...

A Black and White Crazy Quilt Block

I created the basic block for this wallhanging, but all the embellishment was done by a very talented group of Crazy Quilters who met some years ago on an interent mailing list. We have completed many projects together over the past few years- and I think my favourite is a series of four blocks onthe theme of the four seasons. I'll share the pictures when I have completed the wallhanging- another UFO in progress.
