Give This Creamy Coleslaw Recipe A Try
Coleslaw is a salad made from shredded cabbage and other vegetables, with a tangy, sometimes sweet, creamy dressing.
In the United States, especially in the South, Coleslaw is an important side dish. Coleslaw is a staple summer side dish that is served often at barbecues with other summer favorites like barbecued chicken, hot dogs and baked beans.
As this recipe will prove, Coleslaw is always better with celery seed. It is a wonderful addition to a home-cooked meal or a family picnic. In my opinion, great Creamy Coleslaw is created with good knife skills and a short list of easy-to-find ingredients.

Creamy Coleslaw
Makes 12 Side-Servings
List of Ingredients:
2 lemons
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon celery seeds, crushed
1 large head green cabbage (3 pounds), thinly sliced, tough ribs discarded
4 carrots, peeled and shredded
Steps Needed To Make Creamy Coleslaw:
From the lemons, grate 1 teaspoon of lemon peel only (no white part) and squeeze 1/4 cup of lemon juice. (To get more juice from the lemon, prior to squeezing, place the lemon on the counter and apply slight pressure to lemon while rolling the lemon back and forth between the palm of your hand and a hard, flat surface.) In a large bowl, whisk together the lemon peel and lemon juice, mayonnaise, sour cream, sugar, salt, pepper, and celery seeds until blended.
Add the thinly sliced cabbage and shredded carrots to the dressing in a bowl; toss to coat. Serve immediately at room temperature, or cover and refrigerate up to 4 hours.
