- My mom and sister have just recently gotten me into art journals, and now I am DEVOURING information on the subject, so thanks for this! Nice and straightforward and no scary stuff about niches and gouache and the officially approved brand and color of pens :D

- I will try this sometime! I've been keeping journals all of my life but never found the time to sit and collage or even paint and draw on my journaling pages. I'm guessing you love this a lot. I have a lot of magazines laying around, as well as art pencils, watercolors, etc... I'm gonna try it. Lovely how-to, very easy to follow instructions.

- Love journal's but just don't seem to have the time or maybe its the patience I don't have. I have bought supplies to make a journal over a year ago and yet to get started :( you have given me so many creative ideas. I especially like the fabric journals, so colourful, thanks!

- I love these types of creative journals. I think everyone should decorate their own instead of buying the patterned ones. (lensrolled to my journaling prompts page)

- Inspired, as always by your lenses. I decided to follow this lens and the kids and I would make our very first journal. We each made our own and for first timers we are pleasantly surprised with our results. Thank you.......... We did not know we were so creative!
Also, a few days ago when I decided we would make an art journal I was considering going to an art shop for supplies. Thinking of the cost involved I decided to put the supplies in my vortex ..............http://www.squidoo.com/the-vortex I went to the grocery store last night and they had acrylic paints and pencils at half price!
You are an inspiration Bev and I truly appreciate you.

- Aw... I can't wait to see your pages! And you can use anything you can get your hands on. Highlighters with those chiselled tips are great for creating 'calligraphy' - then you outline the letters with a darker pen and add shadow to them.
Thanks for great comments.... maybe I can add one of your journal pages to this lens? Please?

- This is amazing, so creative! I am about to embark on my journey as a first time journal maker and this has provided lots of ideas to get started! May I ask one question? Do you bind your finished pages together into a book, or maybe put them in a plastic sleeve inside a binder? I am not sure if I could start making individual pages right now (I really wanna!) or wait until I can bind a book together - thanks!

- Hi Nikki, thanks so much for stopping by.
To answer your questions I use various ways of keeping my journal pages... I often journal into a blank book, such as a watercolor pad or similar. Moleskines are good. Another is to use simple rings and a hole punch. I also make my own journals using the Teesha Moore technique shown in the video above. You can also take an actual printed book like an old hardback novel and alter it. Lastly, I create fabric journals by making a quilted cover and sewing pages into it. HTH. x

- This is so cool! I love making collages, painting, coloring, using pastels but never thought of combining them with journaling. This could make a great personalized gift, too if the pages were combined with personal messages or poems for or about the recipient.
