Bring Ariel Home!

Do you, or does someone in your home, love Disney's The Little Mermaid? Then you've come to the right place! If you have a bedroom already decked out in Ariel décor, then a matching bath would be perfect. Or, if an entire bedroom of Ariel would be a little overwhelming for you, but you would still like a splash of her fun style in your home, then a bathroom is the perfect place for it. I'm going to show you how I decorated my daughter's bathroom with a Little Mermaid theme, and how you can, too!

Fun Ariel Accessories

The details make the space special!

The Little Mermaid is the perfect theme for a bathroom since it's all about the ocean. The accessories are beautiful in and of themselves, but I love how adding some unexpected things to a bathroom, like water globes and figurines, adds a friendly touch of whimsy and just a bit of elegance. Plus, it gives me an excuse to display a few favorite collectables!

I purchased my Little Mermaid bathroom set for my collage apartment and used it for a few years before packing it away. I've now been able to break open the box and use the set again in my daughter's bathroom, and it's such a pleasure to be in this room around all these charming things! As far as I know, this particular set is no longer for sale anywhere, but you can get similar items, which are shown below.

Beautiful Artwork

Art on the walls brings the whole look together!

One of the things I love best about the movie is how beautiful the artwork in it is, so I love the way that artwork looks when it comes alive on the walls! I chose three of my favorite pieces to decorate the bathroom, which you can see in these photos. Choose your art depending on the size of the space: enough to make an impact, but not so many pieces, or such large pieces that they overwhelm the space.

I purchased matching frames that were a simple white so that they would disappear into the background and the artwork would pop. I hung them on opposite walls, making sure that the one above the towels was the same height from the floor as the one highest over the toilet, and that they were all the same distance from the bathtub.

My Personal Touch

Don't be afraid to bring a little bit of yourself into the room! The ceramic mermaid hanging on the wall over the counter was one of those paint-your-own-pottery projects that I did when I was a child and have hung onto for all these years.
