How To Create A Shabby Chic Bathroom: 5 Tips
The term "shabby chic" was made popular by Rachel Ashwell's 1996 book, "Shabby Chic," and it refers to a distressed, vintage look. This type of Shabby Chic home decor can be described as original yet traditional; plain yet decorative; relaxed yet stylish; scruffy yet orderly.

Begin by sanding your Vanity. It's best to start with an unfinished vanity. If your sink cabinet is already painted or finished, you may need to strip off the finish. Otherwise, consult your local home improvement store for the best way to prepare your vanity for painting.
After your sink cabinet has been sanded or otherwise properly prepped for painting, you will want to start with a good primer. Apply the primer with a roller or brush or use spray primer. Let the primer dry completely before continuing to the next step.
Next, paint the vanity with a light or dark wood color. This is not the final color of the vanity. This is the color that will show through on the distressed parts of the vanity.
After this color has dried, paint the vanity a final coat with white, antique white, or a pale blue, green, yellow or pink.
Once the final coat is dry, distress the vanity by lightly sanding edges and corners to simulate years of use. The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser also works well for removing areas of paint to simulate wear. Continue distressing the vanity until you achieve the look you want.
Tip 3: Replace The Sink, Tub, and Toilet
If you want to go all out, you can find many beautiful Victorian style pedestal sinks, clawfoot tubs, and water closet style toilets for your shabby chic bathroom. Tip 4: Replace The Bath Mats
Complete the look of your shabby chic bath with bath mats and throw rugs in muted pink, green, or yellow florals. Pink roses are always a great choice for the Shabby Chic look. Tip 5: Accessorize Your Shabby Chic Bathroom
Don't forget the accessories. Add towels in whites, pinks, muted yellows, or pale greens. Floral patterns work great. Distressed towel racks and cabinets also look great in your shabby chic bathroom. You can find some great Shabby Chic Bathroom accessories at Three Cats Home Decor.
