How to Build a Squeeze Page: Squeeze Page Anatomy
One of the most effective weapons an Internet marketer has in their toolbox is a relatively simple, yet extremely powerful, single page website: the squeeze page or also known as a lead capture page.
Everyone has heard the adage, "the money is in the list" and the role of the squeeze page is to perform just that function; building the list!
It is both fairly easy and free to build a simple squeeze page using the WYSIWYG editors at free web page creation and hosting providers like Weebly, Synthasite and BlinkWeb.
Here is an overview of squeeze page anatomy and how to build a squeeze page.

All the Pieces-Parts of a Squeeze Page!
a.k.a. Lead Capture Page
We've all seen them.
We've all responded to them.
They are the primary tool that marketers use to first catch your attention, build your curiosity and then compel you to enter your contact information with the promise of a problem's solution.
There are three must have components when starting to build a squeeze page:
>> An attention grabbing headline that builds curiosity, holds the promise of significant benefit and connects with the target market;
>> Details of the benefits in a bulleted-list with a strong and compelling description each benefit causing the reader to complete the opt-in process; and
>> Clear call to action where the reader provides their contact data into the form so you can deliver on your initial promise and the auto-responder email relationship building process can begin.

They are the primary tool that marketers use to first catch your attention, build your curiosity and then compel you to enter your contact information with the promise of a problem's solution.
There are three must have components when starting to build a squeeze page:
>> An attention grabbing headline that builds curiosity, holds the promise of significant benefit and connects with the target market;
>> Details of the benefits in a bulleted-list with a strong and compelling description each benefit causing the reader to complete the opt-in process; and
>> Clear call to action where the reader provides their contact data into the form so you can deliver on your initial promise and the auto-responder email relationship building process can begin.
Three Main Squeeze Page Elements
Each of these three elements is displayed in the image to the right, an excerpt captured from one of the squeeze pages for Renegade University. In this example, the headline section outlined in red; the bulleted benefits outlined in green; and the "call to action" and capture section outlined in blue.The headline section targets network marketers by identifying a major problem many encounter as they try to build their business - building the "LIST" without using traditional network marketing prospecting methods. It accomplishes everything a good headline should:
>> It demands attention;
>> It starts to build curiosity;
>> It is keying into a major issue with the target market; and
>> It promises a tremendous benefit!
Next we find the bullet list that highlights many of the benefits to be bestowed once the reader has acted and ultimately accesses the training site.
In the end it promises to solve a major problem by providing the contact information, which also includes the "Username" to access the free portion of the training program.
Even though the general structure of the squeeze page is fairly simple, the copy-writing that goes into preparing the headline, bullets and even the call to action had a huge influence on the conversion rate (the number of people opting-in/number of people accessing the site).
So as you start to create any squeeze page, stop and consider:
1. The nature of your target market;
2. What problem and benefit will you act upon with the headline;
3. What benefits (minimum of four) your solution offers via the bullet points; and
4. What is the final lure in the call to action?
Two final points to consider as you start to build a squeeze page:
>> Though the example provided is a "text-oriented" squeeze page, a growing trend through much of 2008 is to incorporate a video (usually between the headline and last two sections) with the author adding a personal message (often far more compelling) covering the theme of the page. Video squeeze pages often have higher conversion rates.
>> The copy writing aspect is truly an art in and of itself. Study multiple examples of squeeze pages from various niches and don't be afraid to "borrow" ideas (but don't outright steal them), especially from pages believed to be high converters.
Just as it is in love and war, all is fair in marketing and sales as well!
