Creating Online Income Honestly
Honesty in doing business online is a precious and very valuable commodity which gives huge returns. In this article I will discuss the requirements in dealing honestly online as an online merchant, vendor, or marketer. The online consumer deserves it as a common courtesy from you the online merchant, vendor or marketer.
Learn To Create Honest Online Income...
because your name is important to you
It's called and known by various terms and names such as, Internet marketing, work from home, home based business, marketing online, online marketing, etc. No matter what it is called, it all boils down to one thing... and that is earning money online. A home business is an opportunity available to anyone who is interested in learning to create honest online income.
Creating online income honestly with integrity is the best route to success in this business. This is because the value of integrity is priceless and people are willing to pay more for honest offers knowing that they will get what they have paid for. People will come back for more of what you have to offer if you will simply deal honestly and with integrity. There are essentially three requirements in honestly making money online. They are:
1- Do not overstate the benefits of your offer
2- Honor your guarantees
3- Keep your promises
So let us look at these requirements from a buyer's perspective.
Do not overstate the benefits of your offer...
First we must recognize that buyers do not like to be sold anything. However, buyers like to buy once convinced that a need or desire will be met by taking advantage of an offer. In the buyer's mind everything a vendor has to say about his product is biased and heavily sprinkled with sizzle and hyperbole. If an online vendor makes statements which are obviously and overtly designed to create a sense of urgency without communicating sincerity the buyer will tend to view you as a salesman just looking to make a sale rather than wanting to help solve a want, need or desire.
Let's face it, how many times have you seen an offer with such phrases (hooks) as, "Only 75 packages left" or "Limited to the first 17 lucky individuals", or "This is the only time you will see this offer"? It never ceases to amaze me how prevalent this tactic actually is. It obviously works on some buyers. Compare and contrast the following two examples for riveting attention in a splash page header promoting diet plans.
#1: "Attention: This is limited to the next 17 lucky individuals"
#2: "Realize Our Health Determines Our Longevity!"
#1 is a statement which cannot at all be verified whereas #2 is a very well known and documented fact. So which of these two statements are you more willing to accept as fact? Never mind the urgency, which of the two statements is more likely to move you toward a decision to buy based on truth? Statement #1 actually assumes you are naive enough to believe representations made without concrete evidence and therefore is an insult to a man or woman's intelligence. Again people do not like to be sold...they like to buy.
Hype is something you can expect to see in varying degrees in every offer. Hype is defined as, "publicize in an exaggerated and often misleading manner" [wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn]. On the other hand if a product or offer really does deliver what it promises, it no longer is hype but a genuinely good claim to be used as a kudo for the product being offered. For a merchant or vendor to over hyperbolize the benefits of his offer cheapens the deal completely. Better is a man sold in his own mind on the benefits of a product or offer rather than a man who was sold by the mind of another individual. I would rather be convinced of my own thinking and of my own thoughts than by the representations of another.
Honor your guarantees...
If you as an online merchant or vendor have ever been vetted you will know that there exists on the Net, watchdog organizations devoted to exposing scams and false claims. Not only that but Google is a huge repository of information good and bad regarding vendors, merchants, products and services, and programs, etc. It should then stand to reason that you the merchant or affiliate marketer would in essence be shooting yourself in the foot and destroying your online reputation which will spread like wildfire through the various forums, blogs and social networks as a result of complaints recorded against you for not honoring your guaranty. Be sure to honor your guarantees in order to protect your name in the industry. I have personally seen what I call a 'rap sheet' of buyer complaints against some online marketers who have not honored their published guarantee.
Keep your promises...
You know whenever you as the merchant or affiliate state that you are going to do something you set a buyer's expectation to the level of your statement or claim over the product. The buyer will anticipate having the benefit of that promise or claim to occur according to your word and ad copy content. I cannot stress enough how truly important it is that an online merchant, vendor or marketer keep his or her promise to their buyers. There is the business term "Good will" which is a marketable asset in a business transaction. It can actually be bought and sold as an asset to a business. You build good will by first and foremost standing behind your word. If you state that you are going to do something of value for a customer, buyer, then you should by all means do it with the utmost sincerity in your intentions. Keeping your word sets you and your organization apart from the average marketer, merchant, or vendor. Keeping your promises to every online consumer is nothing more than delivering what you promote. This amounts to nothing less than meeting expectations you have set in their minds. So keep your promises reasonable and be consistent in delivering on your word and your online business will thrive. You can then say without reservation that you do create honest online income.
