Have you been making Lyric Lenses? Take it one step further!
It seems like the latest fad here at Squidoo is to make lyric lenses for your favorite bands! I happen to have over 75 lyric lenses myself! I add to that number of lyric lenses almost daily! Why? Because they are pretty easy to create, and if you do it right, they can bring in a fair amount of traffic! Plus you can have a target audience for the great band products at Amazon and eBay!
Follow along as I share my best tips for creating lyric lenses! Consider this the next step after you follow Jukebox's How To Create a Lyric Lens that I will use throughout this lens.

How To Make a Lyrics Lens "The Original"
I credit lensmaster Jukebox for getting me started with making lyric lenses. I never even considered the idea until I seen his lens on How to Make a Lyrics Lens. It was a perfect fit for me as a lensmaster as I have featured almost 100 bands here at Squidoo. (I also have a How To Feature Your Favorite Band at Squidoo lens!)Not to take anything away from JukeBox and his great lens making talents, I want you to basically follow his examples with some added juice so to speak!
So, please take a minute to view his lens so you will have the basic format of modules that you will use to make your lyric lenses the best traffic performers!
Line up your lyrics text
I use this helpful tag to make my text line up next to the image in the intro module
By adding this code, your lyrics text will line up properly down the right side of your main image. Instead of going under the image, which in my opinion is not what lyrics text is suppose to do!
Don't forget to close the tag with this </p> Add that closing tag at the end of all your lyrics text!

Picking the right keywords is critical to a successful lyrics lens!
Lyric vs Video keyword battle!
There is a huge number of well established, dedicated, top spot on google getting, Lyrics based websites. So how are you going to top those dedicated Lyrics sites?Here are some tips!
The Lyrics vs Videos keyword battle!
There is a very useful tool at our disposal. That tool is called Google Battle.com
What this tool does is takes two keywords and compares their related search numbers. Lets run a test on the keywords "Lyrics" and "Videos"
RESULTS
Lyrics VS. Videos
Lyrics 365,000,000
Videos 1,690,000,000
Total Pages Searched: 2,055,000,000
GoogleBattle winner is Videos
I don't think I have to tell you what that means! Okay I will just in case!
Concentrate on the keyword Videos!
Titles, Primary tags, and tags
Make full use out of these very important areas
Tags are the graffiti for search engines!The Primary Tag
Band names are searched for a lot more than the title names to their songs. Therefore I will construct my primary tag by using the band name and the word video.
Use three words for your primary tag, and only three!
There is a good percentage of bands with two word band names so this will work out perfectly! For bands that have three words in their names, try using their most popular two words plus the word video.
example.. Def Leppard Video
Lens Title
A good healthy lens will use 10 words in their lens title!
This will usually work out perfectly for most lyric lenses, but some may need a little nudging to make the 10 word limit!
For example, my Saints of Los Angeles lyrics lens works out to exactly 10 words, when I title it like this...
Saints of Los Angeles Lyrics and Video by Motley Crue = 10 words, and passes the health check with green colors!
40 more TAGS can be added
I know 40 tags can seem like a lot to come up with for a simple lyrics lens, right?
Not really! JukeBox gives some very good tagging suggestions on his How to make a Lyrics Lens, I suggest you follow that closely.
My added tips are...
You can use the band members names, the name of the album that the song is on, the tour that the band went out on to support that album. Those will all be great keywords for you to use.

I think you get the idea! Try to use any term that is associated with the music world!
This is the title space for the youtube module!
Use "Song Name Music Video by Band Name" as you r title to increase keywords
I usually try to describe the bands music video. Making sure to include the bands name, music video song title, the album that the song was released on, and even band member names in this area.
Also I always turn off the descriptions box in the Display options. Mainly because the person who has control over the music video can change the description at any time, without your knowledge, and you might end up with some text on your lens that you do not like or want there!
I have to include a video, so enjoy this hit by Def Leppard titled Pour Some Sugar on Me from The Hysteria Album.
Make full use of the Amazon Spotlight module
Plus I always have two amazon spotlight modules
The eBay module is another great option to use instead of the second Amazon spotlight module!
"Title of Album" by "Band Name" Use the title space for perfect keywording!
Remember that these keywords you add are in your tags, that will help get good ranking on SE
Talk about what year the album was released and if there was any different band members for this album, you could mention that!
Notice beside the image of the album that I have links going to each of the songs lyrics lenses that I have created for this album. This will help generate a lot more traffic across your other song lyrics lenses, and is also why I recommend that you create a lyrics lens for each song title on the album!
After all, if the visitor was looking for one songs lyrics, they might also want to view the other song lyrics for that album!

There is also areas to post your cafepress stores and zazzle stores!
Add the song name, and band name to the title of the poll module
example.. How do you rate Pour Some Sugar on Me by Def Leppard
Again, you will want to make full use of the text description area of the poll module. I usually give some information about the song and give some general information about the band.
For this poll I am just going to ask how you liked this lens!
Use the eBay module to give your visitors some items to buy!
Don't forget to make full use of the titles and subtitles space
You are getting very targeted traffic when someone wants to view a lyrics lens. Offer your visitors some cool band items!

Best tip is to use all these text spaces to their full extent with lots of good keywords
Add some links to click on
Make updates often, change out the extra band products you are offering.
Add the products keywords to your tags
Get some backlinks.
