There are so many benefits to hosting a home business expo. The obvious fact is you get dozens, even hundreds of people looking at your business and your product at no basically charge to you. When was the last time you've heard of a business getting so many targeted leads for free?If you're like most work at home businesses, you're working the classified ads, buying leads, paid online advertising, pay per click campaigns, etc. It can almost overwhelming at times. Imagine having that many customers looking at your business who are willing to buy for what you sell.
The very first step you'll need to take is deciding on the place to hold the event in. It should be able to comfortably hold about 15 vendors with tables of at least 6 ft long. Don't forget about other factors like food and refreshments.
Next, begin contacting your vendors. I would go directly to your local rep and let them know you are showcasing home businesses and what you offer to the local area. Ask them to be included and if they would offer promotional items to be given out. Start handing out forms which include all relevant information about the event specifics. This includes the vendors cost and what is being supplied in return.
Start advertising. It's cheaper to simply write your own press release or you can also call the paper to tell them what your doing. Have flyers printed up to pass around town. I would think about giving them out at events and places that cater to business men and women. Let the local radio and television stations know, as well.
Collect payments paid by vendors who have signed up to be a part of the expo and keep a ledger of who paid and who hasn't. Keep a detailed list of your expenses such as room rental, advertising, food etc and pay yourself back as your payments start to come in.
Don't forget to hang signs for your business and for your business expo.
