How is a horoscope such as the 2008 horoscope created for every element of the zodiac? Firstly, the astrologer needs to fix on certain specific objects and details of a person, such as the subject's birth exact time and place, or beginning of an event of we are talking about something else other than a person's own horoscope.

The time mentioned by the subject is then converted to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). The astrologer can next consult a set of ephemeris (astrological tables) which contain a complex documentation of location of sun, moon, planets or other celestial bodies on a particular date and Greenwich Meridian Time.

Following this, the astrologer further investigates the process by adding or subtracting the difference between the longitude of Greenwich and the exact longitude of the zone where the subject is talking about, to determine the local mean time at the subject's place of birth. Together with the ephemeris, the astrologer can detect which planets or celestial bodes were visible over the horizon at the exact time, data and place in question, in this case the place of birth.

The horoscope then gets divided into twelve sectors around the world circle, from the eastern horizon towards the west, until a complete circle is formed. The objects that rise into the view are called houses and together with other 'objects' are then used to calculate where the divisions exist.

To be precise, the astrologer can consult Tables of Houses which have been published since the 19th century and now have the possibility of making such an otherwise tedious and demanding task easier. Depending on the position of these houses, a framework can be build - above which the signs of the zodiac are then superimposed.

The sun and the moon are not planets but are grouped as such for ease in communications. The degree of the planets has no bearing on how they affect you, but are for their placement within the sign.

The North Node is a point in space that is related to the moon. It is an indication where you are most confident and comfortable in life. If your North Node, at the time of your birth, were in Gemini, you would be successful in Gemini type of occupations, such as teaching, writing, or at intellectual or artistic gatherings. The South Node is opposite of North Node and indicates areas in life you are uncomfortable with.

The Natal aspects of your horoscope are the way the sun, moon and planets relate to one another. The way they react to one another is important, and very helpful in making crucial choices. You need to become familiar with these terms when you are learning astrology.
