How to Get More for Less!

If you've ever paid a visit to a nutritional retailer like GNC or Vitamin Shoppe, you know that nutritional supplements can be expensive. For a small investment, you can save tons of money and get more for what you pay. By encapsulating your own supplements, you will save an average of 50% off the cost of pre-capped products. That's hundreds of dollars per year in savings! Best of all, encapsulation can be fun and it takes little time at all.

Materials Needed for Self-Capping

For the cost of most nutritional supplements, you can purchase your own encapsulation device! The products below are recommended for encapsulation.

Step One

Prepping your tools for encapsulation.

First, you'll want to put base on its stand. Proceed with separating the tops and bottoms of the capsules (gently pull the halves apart. Place the large half of the capsule in the base and the smaller half in the top, with the open ends pointing upward.

Step Two

Filling the capsules.

To keep a clean surface and preserve any spilled powder, place the base on a bowl, plate, or wax paper. Pour the a moderate amount of powder over the base and spread the powder consistently with the included spreader card.

Step Three

Spread, press, repeat!

Grab the tamping tool and press down on the open spaces, compacting the powder. This should leave you with extra room in the capsule for more powder, should you need it. If you wish, you may re-spread the excess powder and press it a final time. Shovel into the open corner any excess that you do not plan on using.

Encapsulating Oils!

You may also fill your capsules with many different types of oils, like walnut, olive, garlic, omega-3 (fish oil), etc. The capsules dissolve only by water suspension or saliva of the mouth. You do not use the tamper tool or spread the oil. Instead, fill each capsule with the desired amount.

Step Four

Don't worry, you're nearly finished!

Replace the top (the part containing the empty capsules) and remove the base from its' stand, setting it on a flat surface to avoid spilling capsules. Press down firmly until the unit bottoms out.

Step Five

The two halves become one - the perfectly crafted capsule!

As you can see by the picture to the left, the capsules have been connected and are ready for removal from the unit.

Step Six

Mission accomplished!

Give the top of the unit a firm push, and voila! The capsules are automatically expelled from the unit. Store the capsules at room temperature, away from moisture.
