More and more people all over the world are thinking about starting up their own at home business. Why?

Not only are people looking for a way out of the continuous rat race of financial struggle but are wanting to take control of their future, spend more time with their families and start making the income that they know they are worth.

At 21 years old I do not have a family to support or provide for, but I did want to take hold of my own future and I did want to start earning the income that I thought I was worth. Here's how I managed to grab hold of an opportunity and start living the life of my dreams.

I was a university student. And like most university students these days, had a heavy student loan weighing me down. I thought a lot about after I graduate from Uni and eventually find my first full time job. The last thing I want, is every cent of my hard earned work going towards paying back a loan which i managed to outrageously accummulate over the years. When I thought more about this and about my future I thought that there must be some sort of solution out there so that I wont be in debt until im 50!

I researched for about 2 months different types of at-home businesses. I came across a few companies that sounded pretty awesome really and did some more research. One day i decided to fill out one of these online forms for more information. The next day I opened up my email and was overwhelmed with the amount of messages in my inbox from this one company trying to sell me this "once in a life time business opportunity". I also received a call from a NZ lady in the company who seemed really nice and seemed to want to get to know me, what I did, my financial hopes for the future etc. She then explained to me that the first line of the comany would cost me $490 and straight after asked me when I would like to deposit this money into her bank account! I was totally shocked and to get her off he phone stupidly said, "oh um in two days when my pay gets in I guess?".

I hung up and pondered over this very quick and easy conversation I had just had with this complete and utter stranger. I decided that I wouldn't be foolish and that I would definitely ask some questions before I even considered purchasing the first line of the company. So I emailed her a few questions like%u2026 do i have to do cold calling? Is it true that we have to make a list of family and friends and then end up bugging them to buy the product? Are there any real statistics of how many people actually succeed in this company?etc.

Well the reply I received from my email was exactly this.

"Dear Juanita.

I don't know about any of these questions you are asking. But obviously it shows that you are hesitant and therefore not ready to be an entrepreneur and would not make it far in this company.Thanks and good luck with your searching."

At first I was shocked with this reply. All I wanted was a couple of answers to my questions. But after a few seconds I realised I had just escaped another "at home business scam".

I decided after this incident that I would not take researching lightly and that I would have to be 100% sure before I signed up to anything. After a few months I took my search further online and found a company who I am still with now. I asked questions and had answers given back to me. I talked to people who didnt sound desperate over the phone and in need of a sale. I got instant access to a whole network of people, ready and willing for my questions and to help me with starting up my business. The best bit for me is that I am having so much fun being totally financially independent. Aswell as having learnt so much about marketing and internet marketing at that! I have not made one cold call, or had to sell to any of my family or friends.

I am enjoying each day and am on my way to living the life of my dreams and not having to worry about 29 years of repaying my student loan!
