Creating Halloween Sound Effects - what to use / buy

USING THE RIGHT SOUND CREATION SOFTWARE / HARDWARE
To make this as simple as possible, if you are a beginner, I would suggest using some of the software programs as mentioned below and for the more experienced, I have also mentioned some specific sound hardware, also listed below - You will need to spend form $350.00 to $1,000.00 - So you will need to first check your checking ballance before you begin.
Creating sounds is very cool ... I LOVE creating something that will be used by others - I went to several Haunted Attractions and heard my customized sounds being played ... Truly a great feeling!
I have been creating sounds forever and spend 100's of hours every month doing so ... It can drive you insane, but very rewarding as well.

Using the Right Equipment Hardware and Software
I would use something simple / affordable such as.
1) Acoustica MP3 audio mixer
2) Adobe Audition
3) Mixcraft
4) Ulead Audio Editor
5) Sony Acid
6) Sony Cinescore
Just to name a few ... This way you don't have to spend an arm and a leg just to make some cool sounds.
Now, for the advanced user, you can use the same software items as mentioned above and when you are ready to graduate to the Hardware side of things, I would suggest using the best, a Peavey 24 Channel Mixer will do the job - Expct to spend around $1,000.00 for the top of the line unit, the difference between creating HORRIFIC Halloween sounds in software Vs. Hardware is this.
SOFTWARE - More affordable and very portable, you can always catch me on my computer(s) creating new ideas for my next FX CD - The learning curve will take you a good (90) days..
* Plan on spending approximately $350.00
HARDWARE: More expensive andvery hard to carry around, unless you have a studio like I do, easy to input from other sources and kind of fun, once you get the hang of it - The learning curve will take you a good (90) days.
*Plan on spending approximately $1,000.00
So ... I would suggest you using the software approach because it is simple and just as effective, besides once you are done, you can burn your work to a CD.
MAKING YOUR CD COVER - Remember, make something that POP's - Something that will get their attention - Something unique, so if you are planning on making a Halloween FX CD - make it look as Horrible / Creepy as possible.
