The Creation Museum

The Creation Museum opened to the public on the 28th of May 2007.

The Answers in Genesis website says that, "The Creation Museum will proclaim to the world that the Bible is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and practice and in every area it touches on. This 'walk through history' museum will be a wonderful alternative to the evolutionary natural history museums that are turning countless minds against the gospel of Christ and the authority of the Scripture."

The official Creation Museum website says, "Designed by a former Universal Studios exhibit director, this state-of-the-art 60,000 square foot museum brings the pages of the Bible to life.

A fully engaging, sensory experience for guests. Murals and realistic scenery, computer-generated visual effects, over fifty exotic animals, life-sized people and dinosaur animatronics, and a special-effects theater complete with misty sea breezes and rumbling seats. These are just some of the impressive exhibits that everyone in your family will enjoy."

From Evolution to Creation: Dr Gary Parker

One Scientist's Journey

Moderator: "Dr. Parker, I understand that when you started teaching college biology you were an enthusiastic evolutionist."

Yes, indeed. The idea of evolution was very satisfying to me. It gave me a feeling of being one with the huge, evolving universe continually progressing toward grander things. Evolution was really my religion, a faith commitment and a complete world-and-life view that organized everything else for me, and I got quite emotional when evolution was challenged.

I can make this really easy to understand: evolutionary museums are full of fossils, geological strata, and other paleontological finds. The Creation museum, by its own admission, is filled with CGI and animatronics, and designed by someone who worked at Universal Studios, a movie company.

Which seems more realistic to you?

I am impressed by this museum. Never heard of it before! I really like it.
I am also trying to make lenses on the museums of Greece. It would be great if you visited one of them and liked it! If you have some free time, make a stop at the one related to the museum of Delphi Oracle.

Thanks for making this lens - you need to list Already Gone in your book section. My young adult children (Sunday school, parochial school christian college) are reading it with me and telling me yes, Yes, YES!!!!!!!
The museum is very well done - I was concerned when we went that it would be silly, or meant for really little kids. We were very impressed. Nice job.
