If you struggle - as I did - with setting and achieving goals, whether it's losing weight, making money or simply being a better person - this lens describes a creative visualization tool I discovered which has helped me to make lasting changes in all areas of my life. I encourage you to try it - I am confident it will help you too!
Do you make the same New Year's resolution every year?
The thing is that goal setting BY ITSELF is a really tough road, and I say this with the conviction of someone who has failed miserably to achieve goals with depressing regularity. You're trying to "lose 10 pounds by the end of January" but your inner voice is telling you "Oooh! I'd love a piece of that chocolate cake". You are literally fighting against yourself the whole time.
Affirmations are supposed to help with this. And I've stood in front of the mirror in my jockey shorts, looked deep into my own eyes and firmly stated "I am fit and healthy" - while my subconscious mind takes in the ever-growing spare tire and love handles and says "yeah right, fatso - you're not foolin' anyone! How about a donut?"
What I discovered six months ago was a visualization technique that enabled me to enlist the power of my subconscious mind to achieve ALL of my goals. In the first 7 weeks of using this technique my weight dropped 13lbs (6kgs), I created a second income, I put $4977 in my savings account and completely changed my attitude to life. And with my inner voice cheering me on, these changes were not hard work - they felt effortless. And most importantly, six months later these changes have "stuck", and I've used the same system to achieve more goals.
The technique I discovered is called a mind movie - and boy, talk about effective affirmations - this is affirmations on steroids! Using the mind movie creation kit, you create a short slide show of images and affirmations, set it to your favorite inspiring song and watch it first thing of a morning and last thing at night. It's amazing - it takes you less than 10 minutes each day and it changes your life!
