After having some problems with the Creative Video Converter software, I found a freeware alternative SUPER © Simplified Universal Player Encoder & Renderer. Below are the settings I use to convert my video files, so they are compatible with the ZEN.

SUPER © Settings
1. Select the Output container: AVI
2. Select the Output Video Encoder: DivX
3. Select the Output Audio Codec: MP3

You can select either ffmpeg OR MEncoder: MEncoder

Once you've selected all the settings, just drag and drop your video files on to the Super © interface, and click "Encode (Active Files)" (pictured below). The "Rendered file optimizer" will pop up, select "DIVX - All DivX Players compatible!".

By default Super © saves encoded files directly on your C: drive, you can change this location by right clicking on Super © and selecting, "Output File Saving Management".

The MP3 Player Recovery Tool is provided by Creative to fix a majority of player problems quickly. The tool is works with Windows XP® 32-bit or Windows Vista 32-bit operating system and is compatible with the following players:
