    This is a great lens, but I wonder if there's such a thing as too much content per lens. You cover a wide range of subjects all related to writing, but I hardly think any one aspiring writer will be in search of all this information at once. A new writer might be overwhelmed by the amount of advice you're handing him all at once. Still, some very useful information for the aspiring writer. Great job.

    Turning the secret into reality is the secret. I couuldn´t agree with you more and congratulations on applying yourself - I am still hedging about too much. And at the end of the day it is quite simple really - just write, and write, and write. I will be coming back here quite often as you have a lot of information to digest and apply. Thanks.

    Lots to think about here. I've put off writing for too long also. I had a 10+ span of years where I couldn't write a word. Now I am making use of that other tip, write whenever you can. The book about verifying quotes seems like a must have. I just hate when I quote get remashed and rehashed and attributed to someone else entirely. Lensrolling this to Granny Gets Her Groove Back

    Hello. I love, love, love your lens, there is so much valuable information here, I'll have to come back often to digest it all.

    How in the world did you get tabs across the top of your page and get each (tab) page separate and focused this way? I like the guestbook at the end. I have them all over the place and it's quite confusing, a very newbie mistake on my part.

    I think, to be a good writer you need to read a lot, listen and observe everything about you carefully, and write a lot.

    As a published writer I endorse your statement: "It took me until mid-life to learn the real secret to becoming a successful author. That secret is simply that writers write. They don't talk about it. They write."

    That really is the secret. When my first - and only!! - novel was published, so many people talked to me about their secret dream of becoming a writer. But they never wrote!

    If you want to be published, you have to write something. Elementary but overlooked. Great lens.

    Okay, I absolutely LOVE this lens! Becoming a published writer has been a life-long dream of mine. I still can't believe that I am just now pursuing that dream, at the age of 32. Having the right resources at my fingertips has always been my number one hindrance to making that dream a reality. Thank you so much for these fantastic creative writng tips and tricks!     just the info I needed!!! thank you :) i'd also like to share one resource called infloox that has helped me tremendously in finding inspiration for my writing. Well, not just that, but moreso it also helps to find where *others* derive their inspiration from.

    Robin, I can't believe after a year and a half at Squidoo I am just finding this treasure. I feel like I have been blessed to have found it at this very moment in time.     I love Stephen King's book, "On Writing" cos it delivers tons of valuable info about writing and getting published. I found another useful page with info from him on Infloox; it outlines his top literary influences to give you an idea of who/what inspired all of his writing

    I've written a lot of fiction (My Mother's Shoes, a humorous mystery) was published last year, but I've never tried writing fantasy.
    It would be an interesting experiment.
