Where Creativity & Intuition meet to form Intuitivity!!!

Have you ever just known exactly what to do? Has the paint just flowed from your brush without thought? Have the words just written themselves? Have you just danced with joy to a piece of music you have never heard before? These bursts of creativity are what I call Spirit-knowledge...where creativity and intuition come together to form what I call "Intuitivity"...

Intuitivity is Spirit-knowledge-the sense and knowledge of faith in a power beyond self that is alive in your heart. Intuitivity is present in every piece of art, whether the artist or craftsman believes it or not.

I intentionally open and invite this universal connection before I begin to create - a ritual of sorts. I center myself with a few deep breaths. When I am ready (I do not rush this time), I ask simply, "Give success to the work of my hands."

I am led to discover how to let my divine intuition create without editing...letting go of preconceived notions...I will play...I will find my unique, individual visual voice...and I will begin to use it powerfully...and I will teach you how to do the same.

to form an artistic community...

Cre8Tiva and Rebecca will lead the exploration into Art, Creativity and Spirituality. We will create a supportive artistic community where you learn to believe in and develop your creative process as we journey inward to explore creativity and discover or rediscover your inner artist. Artisans from any discipline are invited to discover the tools for a lifetime of creative expression. The journey begins...

Go Within Muse - Friday's aMUSEment

Introducing the Muses and Friday's aMUSEment...The Go Within Muse represents looking deep inside yourself for inspiration and creation. Look closely and you will see the face within the figure. She is the muse we call upon when you have to do some soul searching about your creativity.

Go Within is the poster girl for the launch of the exciting new program called Friday's aMUSEment. Every Friday I will publish a suggestion to spark your creativity. Sometimes it will be an action step, sometimes a meditation. Come back every Friday and join in Friday's aMUSEment.

Come often to get a creativity kick-start. Spread the word to anyone you know - artist, writers, craftsmen, poets, journalers, craftspeople, dancers, musicians - all creative souls are invited to partake. I only ask that you pass it along!!!

=======================================
Today's aMUSEment - take 10 minutes before you begin to create today to meditate about the piece you are working on. If you sit quietly a new idea will usually appear. At minimum it sets the mood for creativity to flow.

Hold Conversations with Paint

The above is the center spread of a 2003 book I call "Golden Book" because it is completely done with Golden Artist Colors products. It is a sample book for my Between the Covers workshop.

Creativity flowed when I was creating this book. When I shared my newest artwork with my daughter. She was not too enthusiastic. My children rarely are enthusiastic about my artwork. I am learning to get my support from God and myself. That is all that really matters anyway.

I am still creating intuitively, working out ideas and sifting through years of work deciding what to use. I am dabbling at the moment trying to find a place for myself. I have been a muralist and decorative painter (walls, furniture, etc.) for 30 some years. Changing to small canvases has been a challenge for me.

Why the change? Short version - I broke my back and, as a result, I can no longer climb ladders and scaffolding. So I have been reinventing me for the past few years. It has been a fantastic journey into myself and my abilities. Cre8Tiva is the best part of this renewal process.

Creativity Action Step

What the mind yearns for most is not to know, but to believe.

Today's aMUSEment - Get a piece of paper and some colored markers. We are going to write eight things that you think or say about yourself that are limiting you from creativity. Make an artsy journal page out of this. Write in the center of the page My Limiting Beliefs in bold letters. Then take a different color for each belief and write it out. Turn the paper. Write or print. Make some doodles while you think. I will jump start your list -
1) I am not as talented as _____;
2) I can't do that!;
3) Nobody would pay money for my creations.

Throughout the day be thoughtful about how and why you limit yourself.

    This is an interesting and unusual lens. Welcome to the Art & Design Group.

Are you a fellow artist?

Do you feel a connection between creativity and intuition?

but of course...i feel a deep connection with God when i create...be it spiritual or just a connection, it is ever present when i create...when i do not feel this connection, what i create is bad, sad, or just junk...i have a way to place myself in the flow after practicing for many years...i find that if i just make a mark when i am painting or start typing when i am writing, the rest will follow...
