Meet Clawdette, a black cat and the host of National Geographic's Creepy Creatures. She wants to introduce a ghoulish gathering of creepy creatures. National Geographic's Creepy Creatures Rated For Children

Creepy Creatures is not rated although I have seen recommendations for children aged eight and up and I read on one site that some of the material might not be suitable for the youngest children. I have also seen it recommended for all ages but not for those with arachnophobia.

Animal Planet's The World's Biggest and Baddest Bugs

The-World's-Biggest-and-Baddest-Bugs

Follow the host, Ruud Kleinpaste, on an hour and a half journey around the world, searching for the biggest and baddest of the creepy crawlies.

This Animal Planet program is divided into two halves. The first dedicated to large bugs and the second dedicated to deadly ones. You will meet massive cockroaches, large dragon flies and the praying mantis and you will learn more about them as you watch them going about their daily lives.

Ruud really enjoys meeting dangerous and deadly bugs and this film includes moments when he has 5,000 killer bees hanging around, when he is being stung by bullet ants and more. In total, 16 species of bugs are introduced and a lesson or activity related to each is shared.

The insect footage on The World's Biggest and Baddest Bugs is said to be amazing, although the blu-ray disc does not feature a noticeable improvement in quality. Despite that fact, if you are interested in buying this nature documentary film, you may wish to pick the blu-ray if you have the capability to watch blu-ray because it is available through Amazon for a third of the cost of the DVD.

The World's Biggest and Baddest Bugs Rated For Children

the-world's-biggest-and-baddest-bugsUnfortunately, this nature documentary is not rated and none of my usual resources have reviewed it. If you have seen it, be sure to share with us what you think of the rating for young children. I did find one reference, at DVDBeaver, at which the author said that he thought the target audience was young children. However, I am unable to confirm that fact. Another site, Marbeks, rated The World's Biggest and Baddest Bugs PG, stating that some scenes may scare very young children.
