Picking Your Squad

To play Cricket Attax, you'll need to pick your team of players. As you'd expect, just like in a real game of Twenty20, you'll need to select eleven players for action.

The 11 players must include at least one each of Batsmen, Bowler, Wicket Keeper and All-Rounder cards. You can't have any more than one of any player in your team - no playing with five Sachins ;) You must also have one Powerplay card.

If you're playing seriously, you should also include the following rules - no more than two players from any of the franchises, only one captain card plus either a Star Player or Auction Star plus one Special Player card, eg Man of the Match, Hat Trick Hero, etc (but remember that you can't have the same player twice - even if there is a regular card and a special player card of the same player).

Basic Gameplay of Cricket Attax

1) Toss a coin - the winner decides if they want to bat or bowl first
2) The bowler chooses one of their cards, the batsman chooses one of theirs.
3) Compare the bowler's bowling score with the batsman's batting score. If the bowler wins, it's a wicket (no runs). If the batsman wins, the batting side score the number of runs indicated on the card. Record the result on the scorecard. (If it's a tie, the card with the highest 'runs' total wins, then proceed as before)
4) The winner of that round selects their card first in the next round, and play progresses until all eleven cards are used by the batting side.
5) Add up the total score, then switch over to see how the other player gets on.
6) Just like real cricket, the team that scores the most runs wins.

More Gameplay...

We mentioned a couple of other card types earlier. Here's how they work:

Hat Trick Heroes - if a hat-trick hero bowler takes a wicket, they take another two too, just like an action-packed real-life hat-trick. The bowling player selects one of the remaining face-down batsmen (without looking at the front of the cards) and adds it to the wickets pile. The batting player then adds one further batsman to the wickets pile. Record all three wickets on the scorecard.

Powerplay - once per innings, you can play a powerplay card to increase the batting or bowling stat of your player by 5. The team on the powerplay card must match the team of the player being boosted.
