Scandanavian Crime Fiction
What do you think?
How many are reading Karin Fossum of Norway? I've still only read "Don't Look Back", but that was truly excellent and quite chilling.
Any others you wish to add to the list?

Death of a Red Heroine (Soho crime)
Amazon Price: $10.08 (as of 11/26/2009)![]()
This is an astonishing novel that manages to provide a suspenseful mystery story, the first real insight I had into the details of the Cultural Revolution in China, extensive background on life in a totalitarian state, and some poetry for good measure. A remarkably balanced book, possibly the best crime novel of the decade.

- Liz, thanks so much for the kind words and the information on The Osgood Trilogy. I identify with flawed, unsung heroes... except for the heroic part, and I'll have to give the series a try! You can add your own blog or favorite site or link where it says "add to this list" above. Best wishes, Jim

- Well -- this is fiction, and I THINK this is the right part of the site. The "lens" aspect is something new to me. But what a great site to come across!
I've been enjoying The Osgood Trilogy by Mary E. Martin. This is a collection of 3 legal suspense novels, all featuring lawyer Harry Jenkins (a flawed, but unsung, hero). These books have intricate plotting to recommend them, and Mary Martin does an excellent job of weaving in the law and mystery -- with the added spice of some psychological horror. These are page-turners, and after you're done, you'll find yourself remembering the characters for quite some time.
