Criss Angel Magic Secrets

This mind blowing effect can be performed anywhere, anytime, by anyone with no experience, with no special props. That's the great part. No props, no gimmicks, no switches and no set ups of any kind. This is one of the greatest street magic tricks I've ever seen.

Here's what you do ... borrow a spectator's signed coin... ask for any can of soda or beer from anywhere... then watch their face as their signed coin miraculously penetrates their sealed can, which immediately is heard and seen inside the can.

As a matter of fact, the spectator can be the first person to try to remove the coin from the open can when they get home!

Here's The Effect:

Borrow a coin from the spectator and have them mark it with a Sharpie marker. Then have them select ANY sugar packet in the entire restaurant (they can get it from a different TABLE if they want. Set it aside...keeping it in view at all times.

Show their marked coin. Then make the coin vanish COMPLETELY. It looks like the coin just disintegrated. It's gone from both hands, front and back. Clearly gone.

Then with your CLEARLY empty hands, slowly pick up the sugar packet and tear it open. For the finish, let the spectator reach inside and take out THEIR SIGNED COIN!

Immediately hand the sugar packet (even the part you ripped off) out for examination. They will find nothing wrong with either the coin or the sugar packet. The props were borrowed, remember?

Picture this: Your friend screws a nut onto a bolt. You put them both on the table and your friend covers them with his hat. From here on out, you don't touch anything again. Your friend clearly sees the nut screwed well onto the bolt up until the very last moment before it is covered by his hat. He agrees that the only way to get it off would be to move the hat, pick up the nut and bolt, and unscrew the nut.

Concentrate on the nut and bolt under the hat.

Concentrate...

Then look directly into the spectator's eyes, flash a wry smile, then turn and walk away.

The spectator can't resist. He peeks under the hat and lo and behold the nut has UNSCREWED ITSELF from the bolt! Talk about mind over matter, this is downright freaky.

Criss Angel's Magic Secret:

Here's the secret to Criss Angel's trick: the lady was an amputee. Having a hard time believing that? Google, "Rose Siggins." The lady on the bottom is a contortionist (bent over, hands on legs). The amputee sits on top of her and the two are held together by straps, clips, magnets or something. Note how the lady is conveniently wearing a black dress that would disguise where the two people join. Of course, some post editing would have concealed anything that might have been flashed.

At this point, most of you are probably disappointed. Who wouldn't be, especially after learning that your favorite "street magician" edits his tricks and hires deformities to perform his illusions? The ultimate goal of a magician is to entertain, and Criss Angel knows this. I guarantee that before you found out the secret to this magic trick, you were absolutely entertained. I sure know I was. The whole point of magic is to ignite a small spark of curiosity within us, causing us to wonder if the supernatural can actually occur.

Criss Angel does a wonderful job of entertaining, regardless of the techniques he chooses. Like all magic performers, Criss Angel knows how to get reactions. I have come to realize that the downside to being a magician is that you probably won't be as fascinated when you see a magic trick. But, the positive side is that you have the ability to astonish others.

Imagine ... being able to pick a card from a deck of cards that has been hidden at random by your friends. Step by step you will tell them the color, suit and finally the exact card they chose!

Or what about if you could read back to your family a sentence from a book they secretly chose for you to discover. Watch the expression on their face as you get it right word for word!

Imagine being able to make predictions. For instance, in a party you hand a guest an envelope containing three coins and ask them to take one and flip it up in the air. You then not only tell them the coin they chose but also which side landed up.

Effect:

The four Jacks act as robbers who succesfully rob a bank (the deck) and make a miraculous getaway! Each jack goes into a different place in the deck, and as the police come, they all rise to the top and get away! This is a great beginner card magic trick!

Secret:

First, prepare for the trick by removing the four jacks, as well as three indifferent cards. Position the four jacks fanned out in your right hand with the three indifferent cards behind the last jack.

To your audience, this should look like only four jacks. (I hid those other cards behind the Jack of Clubs in this picture.)

As you show the jacks, say "Let me tell you a little story about how the jacks robbed a bank. They parachuted to the roof of the bank late at night when the bank was closed." Place all seven cards (the four jacks, and then on top of those are the three indifferent cards) on the top of the face down deck. It should look like you just placed four jacks ontop of the deck.

Say "The first jack went to the basement and stole all the jewels." Take the top indifferent card and slide it into the deck near the bottom. Don't let the audience actually see this card. Remember that they just saw them, and don't make this sneaky.

Say "The second jack went to the first floor and stole all the money." Take the next card (the one on top of the deck now) and place it into the middle of the deck.

Say "The third jack went to the top floor and stole all the gold." Place the third indifferent card near the top of the deck.

Say "The last jack stayed on the roof and kept an eye out for the police". Pick up the last jack and casually flash the face of the jack to the audience. Make it look like this wasn't deliberate, and only show it so that they barely see it. (What we want to do here is create the impression that you showed them all the other jacks as they recreate this trick in the mind later.)

Say "Then the cops came! Lucky for the jacks, the last jack had a whistle and blew it as he jumped up and down on the roof." Illustrate this with the top jack by picking it up and having it merrily dance around.

Say "All the jacks rushed to the top and escaped into their helicopter:" As you do this, one by one flip over the jacks on the top of the deck and toss them onto the table face up. It is a little cooler if you can do this and make them spin a little as they land because it adds to the effect.
