The Cristian Rivera Foundation Salsa Fundraiser was a huge success last night, bringing dancing, drinks, music, and entertainment together in celebration of a great cause! The event, held at Latin Quarter nightclub on Lexington Ave in Manhattan, had a great turnout of people all hoping to one day help find a cure for Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).

The night featured legendary salsa singer Jose Alberto "El Canario" performing for the crowd and singing all of his greatest hits including songs such as "Sueno Contigõ." Everyone was on their feet throughout the evening, dancing to the music out on the floor. The event also consisted of music by DJ Norty Coto entertaining everyone so that there was never a dull moment the entire night.

All of the proceeds from the fundraiser benefitted the Cristian Rivera Foundation and will be used towards future research for doctors studying the inoperable brainstem tumor which is diagnosed to approximately 200 children in the United States each year. Remember to stay posted and look out for any future events the Foundation will be hosting so that we can change the lives of the children and their families affected by DIPG.

The event will feature music by a few of the Foundation's Committee members, along with beats by talented DJ Tedsmooth, DJ Lucho, and DJ Wreck. There is no cure for DIPG, and all proceeds from the Latin Kitchen Fundraiser will benefit the Cristian Rivera Foundation. Latin Kitchen is located at 3841 East Tremont Avenue, Bronx, NY 10465. The doors open at 10pm and there will be free shots and appetizers for all guests. There will be $5 Sangria throughout the night after a minimum $10 donation is made. Trendy attire is a must, which means no sneakers or timbs, and a collared shirt for men. We hope to see you this Thursday for a fun night as we all get together to raise money to find a cure for DIPG.

The Cristian Rivera Foundation is a New York City-based organization which is entirely devoted to researching and finding a cure for the inoperable brain tumor, DIPG, which affects children ages 1-9. John "Gungie" Rivera, a renowned NYC event promoter, created the Foundation six months after his six-year-old son Cristian lost his two-year battle with the rare brain stem tumor. The missions of the Cristian Rivera Foundation is to not only fundraise, but also spread awareness for this rare brain tumor known as DIPG, and to hopefully one day find a cure.

Due to its location and the speed at which the tumor grows, treatment options are very limited. There have been no medical advancements made in the treatment of DIPG in over 30 years.
