Motifs

Motifs are very popular in crochet as they can be used in so many different ways. They are sewn or crocheted together to create afghans, baby blankets and clothes, tops, skirts, belts, purses, scarves, chair covers, cushions, and more. There are as many ideas for uses as can be found in your imagination.

They can be large or small and can be made with yarn or thread and in any colour or combination.

The design can be square, round, or multi-sided, and can be three dimensional or flat. A motif pattern can represent flowers, geometrics, culture, sports and more.

Nosegays

A nosegay is a small round bouquet of flowers or herbs, often used in weddings. The flowers may be one colour or many different colours, large or small.

When you crochet a nosegay motif, you can use colours to represent your favourite flowers. Use a single colour, a variegated thread or two or three different colours.
