I've been making amigurumi for a little over a year. I started with Ana Paula Rimoli's Amigurumi World: Seriously Cute Crochet. I'm impatiently waiting for her second book.

Etsy is also a great source for amigurumi patterns. My favorites are AmyGaines, NeedleNoodles, stripeyblue, and Anapaulaoli.

love this lens! 5* My mom was a world class crochet-er...and our whole family has many dolls she made...She made ones for all the countries she visited(at least 20) and she made us all a complete Nativity set and many ornaments of animals for our christmas trees. I have them sitting around my house and everyone is blown away by these little works of art.

Terrific lens. Thanks for all the helpful links. I've been crocheting for more than 30 years and for the past year have been selling my creations on Etsy. But until just a few months ago I had never heard of Amigurumi. At first I thought it looked 'silly' - big heads-tiny bodies-weird shapes. Then I decided to try making one just to see what this 'craze' was all about..... and I fell in love with the style. It's so versatile.... it can be anything you want it to be.... it's limited only by your imagination. Needless to say, I've now added Amigurumi to my favorites.

Awesome lens! I just found a book on this at Barnes and Noble tonight and I'd never really looked into Amigurumi before (I'm still getting the hang of pronouncing it!) I can't wait to look through the patterns here and maybe get brave enough to try my hand at one. I have a feeling once you make one, you get hooked.
