Yesterday's Crochet Patterns
There is no written record of crochet before the 1800s when the first crochet patterns were published. Prior to that, the art of crochet was passed down from generation to generation, working from samples of finished work.
Today, there are many wonderful pattern books available along with a wide variety of types and colors of yarn, making the art of crochet interesting amd enjoyable, a very pleasurable, yet practical, hobby for making clothing and accessories, decorative and useable items for the home, holiday decorations, and thoughtful gifts for friends and family.
The patterns shown here are very easy to do while showing how to make practical and fun products you will enjoy using.

- After 22 years of crocheting, I stepped beyond the scarf a few weeks ago and made my boyfriend's son a hat! I kept having him try it on every few rows to see if it was the right size. LOL Time to learn to read patterns and try new things. Thanks for all the ideas!
