The crocodile tears are for the pleasure of eating. Crocodiles have tears in their eyes after they have a good meal out of a prey they kill -- but observation suggests that they don't cry because of feeling guilty. This is why one would be said to cry with "crocodile tears" when one is faking sorrow or pretending to be sorry.
Some people are not comfortable with eating crocodile they find them threatening animals and think that it is dangerous to come close to them.
Well, the truth is not exactly like that!
There are situations when crocodiles are as nice as any of us when we are real nice.
That is mainly when the crocodile is cooked and served as a dish to be consumed as food by people. Quite the reverse of what crocodiles would believe of who should eat whom.

The first crocodile farm was established in 1986 in Botswana, close to the great Delta of the Okavango River, in Maun.
Okavango is the river that links Zimbabwe, Zambia, Angola and Botswana. The Okavango Delta is a natural wonder, the biggest delta in Africa, habitat for a range of rare animals, object of continuous scientific research.
Currently there are over 5000 crocodiles living in various farms around this African country. They all have happy crocodile tears as they are fed naturally.
The farms have been populated with crocodiles from the Okavango Delta but the stock is increased by farm hatching and growing.
The crocodiles are free range and happy, living almost like in their natural habitat as farms in Botswana are big, mirroring an unspoilt environment..Happy crocodiles have tears in their eyes from feeling well! Crocodile tears do not mean that they are sad or frustrated -- crocodile tears are from being full after eating their own food -- although that is only the regular crocodile food.

The Bakwena -- children of the crocodile -- with a crocodile totem
The Bakwena are part of the Tswana tribes in Southern Africa
In Africa, each tribe has its totem, an animal, that is recognized as linked to the ancestors. Each tribesman or woman is a child of the respective animal -- totem. The crocodile is the totem of the Kwena tribe from Botswana.
Bakwena is the name of the tribespeople and Mokwena is the name of a single tribsman or woman. There are branches of the tribe living in South Africa too. The Bakwena are part of the greater Tswana groups of African tribes.
My very good friend from Botswana , Mma Sechele, is a Mokwena.
Tribes people are not supposed to eat their totem, so Mma Sechele would never eat crocodile. She eats instead sweets, watermelon, sweet treets (a sweetish reed that has to be chewed), beef, chicken and white bread.

Crocodile meat is a succulent light meat with a delicious and unique flavor. Crocodile meat is low in fat and high in protein. It is best cooked in the same way as lean pork or chicken. It can be prepared into a great variety of dishes and is ideal in a light marinade or sauce. If you have an alligator handy, you can replace the crocodile tail by an alligator tail. Ingredients
- 400 g crocodile meat
- cut into 2cm cubes
- 40 ml lime juice
- 200 ml chicken stock
- 30 ml honey
- 30 g brown sugar
- 5 g ginger
- 30 ml olive oil
- 10 g cornflour
- salt and pepper
- 8 bamboo skewers
Instructions
Cut and thread meat onto bamboo skewers. Place in a flat dish, season with salt, pepper, pour lime juice over and place in fridge for about 1 hour.
Remove skewers from refrigerator. Saving residual lime juice for the sauce. Heat olive oil in a frying pan and sauté crocodile for about 5 minutes, set aside and keep warm. Combine all ingredients in the pan, except the meat. Bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes.
Place skewers on plates, spoon sauce over meat and garnish with fresh herbs.

- corn flour
Instructions
1. Heat oil to frying hot.
2. Mix all ingredients except the corn flour and meat in a bowl.

Serve with fresh salad but do not use salad dressing. The crocodile meat has a delicate flavor that does not fit with the strong taste of salad dressings. Crocodile meat is best eaten on its own or with very a simple, plain side dish with no extra spice on it. Eating crocodile is easy!

- 1 teasp. Garlic powder
- Salt and White Pepper

Instructions
1. Preheat the grill to hot

4. Place meat on to a rack in the grill and grill for 5-6 minutes. Turn the meat occasionally until white and firm.

It was an older one when I knew very little of how to customize things on Squidoo. - Having lived in Florida for over 30 years I have had my share of alligator nuggets. They are OK, it depends who is cooking them. Sometimes they really do taste like a dark meat chicken, other times kind of tough and stringy.
