Cross Stitch

Cross stitch has been around for thousands of years and is said to be one of the oldest forms of needlework. A cross stitch pattern is completed by creating "x"'s with embroidery floss in many different colors and shades to give it the appearance of looking like a painting.

There are two main types of cross stitch - counted cross stitch and printed cross stitch. Counted cross stitch is completed by stitching on a linen that has punches holes spaced evenly apart. Printed cross stitch is stamped onto a solid fabric and the stitches are made over the stamps.
