Hunting with CrossBows
Croosbows have been used for centuries for combat and hunting. A bolt (arrow) sits upon a guide rail and is expelled with the use of flexible material, such as wood or composites and bow string. Originally used for warfare, today Crossbows are mainly used for hunting and target shooting. Crossbows are believed to be originated in China.
Types of Crossbows
Crossbows were originally designed to be compact and easy to carry, as opposed to full size bow and arrows. When going into battle at close range, the crossbow was easier to maneuver and aim at the enemy target. The two main types of crossbows are the single string and compound. The single string models are the original design, using a single string stretched between the bow. The compound models have a series of pulleys to magnify the force applied upon the bolt.
