Cruise Savings
Sometimes getting the good deal on a cruise is the easier part of the vacation. After that, while you are on your cruise, you may be tempted to participate in the activities that cost above the price of the cruise. There are plenty of activities that do not cost a penny more than what you already spent on the cruise ticket including going to shore and enjoying sites and activities there. But, sometimes, you could find yourself wishing you would have been able to add this one extra thing to your vacation.

Cruise Lines Offer Cruise Deals
These days, the cruise lines are offering inexpensive cruise deals for cruises that are further off than three months. This way, they are able to fill the ship sooner and guarantee that they can plan for a full ship. So, when you find a cruise that is six months out or more at a good price, go ahead and book it.
Upgrade your Stateroom
Why the Cruise Line will Upgrade
This accomplishes a few things for the cruise line:
- They will now have a client who is spoiled by the luxury of a balcony stateroom.
- They will fill the upper and public staterooms.
- They will increase their reputation for working with clients when they can to improve the luxury cruise experience.
Start Your Cruise at a Low Price
Upgrading Your Room
Another option that is available to a cruiser is to book a stateroom and then request to upgrade just prior to the start of the already inexpensive luxury cruise. One could purchase an already-discounted luxury cruise at the much lower price available for an interior stateroom. Then, as the date of the cruise draws near, he could contact the cruise line and request an upgrade to a balcony stateroom at no extra cost.

You still have a chance.
Upgrade Your Stateroom While at Sea
If you find yourself at sea, and you still wish to upgrade, you can approach the management with your request. If there are rooms available, they may upgrade you for free or for a slight charge. So, even if you haven't upgraded until you are at sea, you have an opportunity to upgrade your stateroom. If you had originally purchased a lower priced stateroom in order to save some cash and you don't get to upgrade, remember that it is the total experience of the cruise and the room is usually a minimal part of the experience.
If I had an interior room, I would not think anything less of my cruise. I would still enjoy the hospitality of the crew, the interaction with the other cruise guests, the activities and entertainment provided at no extra cost. A cruise in an interior room is still far superior to a vacation on land in a suite that overlooks the ocean. The whole ship becomes your room and the stateroom is only a place to enjoy the rest that is sorely needed in order to enjoy the next day's activities.
