My Dream Vacation-to Cruise the World
My husband and I have taken several cruises over the years and have never been disappointed. I always said when I retired we would take a cruise around the world. Well I retired a few years ago and that dream vacation has not happened yet. Life just seems to get in the way.
The Senior Squid challenge for this week is to write a lens about my dream vacation, so I thought this would be the perfect time to dream about my cruise around the world.
Cruises I have Taken
The three lenses below detail three of the cruises we have enjoyed.
As you can see we have some experience cruising and have developed ideas on what we like to help in deciding the particulars on a cruise around the world.

Thoughts about my Dream Vacation
After taking several cruises, my husband and I have decided that a balcony room is the only way to go. Since this is my dream vacation, I will have to say that I will choose the suite with a balcony. After all it's my dream...and maybe I'll win the lottery :)When we took our Alaskan cruise, we had purchased a balcony room and the cruise line needed to use our room for some people who wanted a room near their relatives. They asked us to change rooms and gave us a suite on the back of the ship for no extra charge. It was wonderful. Huge room, double balcony, walk in closet, double bathroom area including jacuzzi tub and a shower. We were totally spoiled. On my dream trip we would have a suite like this for our 103 night cruise!
The photos and art below show some of the places I will be looking forward to seeing on our cruise around the world.

- We have been on a few cruises. Your cruise in the Mediterranean must have been quite wonderful. Our longest was for three weeks across the Pacific to Australia. I think I prefer destination holidays! Well...here's hoping!

- I sailed across the Atlantic on the original Queen Elizabeth -- as a child, in 1960-61 -- but I haven't cruised just for fun yet -- lenses like this stir travel dreams, though -- blessed by a SquidAngel!

- I've been to Mexico on an 8-day cruise. I don't think I could go on a cruise for 103 nights. Too long. I was ready to get off after 8 days. But you go right ahead and go!

- I have never taken a cruise. I have always been afraid of the ocean. I am sure that sounds funny from someone who will board a plane without a thought :) I would love to see all of the places you have featured too. Dreams really do come true sometimes. We'll just keep on dreaming, hoping and planning.
