I actually took my kids on what was called a Disney Cruise, but it was years ago and the ship looked NOTHIG like the beautiful ones you show here. It was called Disney's Big Red Boat and the package was for 3 days of cruise down to the Bahamas and then 4 days at Disney World. The cruise part was a major disappointment -- there was a caino on board, right in the middle of the ship and no children were allowed to even walk through it, so they had to take the stairs down a level, cross the ship under where the casino was, and then take the stairs back up on the other side. The pool on deck was about the size of a postage stamp. They did have some activities for the kids ... like a scavenger hunt, but nothing nearly as elaborate and grand as you describe here. It was definately put on by Disney, but they obviously didn't have their sea legs yet! From then on, we just went to Disney World and stayed at the resorts. Your pictures here really make me want to try again-- but now my kids are all grown up! :(

Have been wanting to take one for a while now. Just wondering... for those who don't particularly enjoy kids, would it still be fun? Are are there tons of kids running around everywhere? Thanks for the super lens!

Great Lens! This is all really good information. I've been on two Disney cruises (hope to go on a third soon) and wish I'd had this info back then. I'll be back!

My husband and I have been on the DCL Wonder and Magic 4 times. Twice were for free as part of an incentive to invest more in our DVC (SO worth it - you will not believe the savings)!
If you are ever worried that it is going to be too much kid Disney in your face - think again. Disney Cruises are top notch and elegant all the way. The customer service, amenities, food, shore excursions, and private island are better than any other cruise we have been on.
Rarely saw the kids even when we stayed on the 5th deck. Parents you actually will get a vacation from the kids!
Did you know DCL doesn't just cruise the Caribbean, it has cruises around the world (limited dates to northern Europe, the Mediterranean, and transitioning cruises). Two more ships (Dream in 2011 and Fantasy in 2012) see the press release at www.wdwinfo.com and click on Disney Cruise Line.
Our next cruise is going to be February 2010 and our grandmother is coming. The Disney pixie dust just ignites the kid in all of us!
